So essentially, without the precursor oxaloacetate available as a substrate, the TCA cycle slows down proportionally - prohibiting fat loss. Additionally to fueling the TCA cycle, Delta-5-E is documented to increase the uncoupling effect inside the mitochondria of fat cells. Fortunately, Delta-5-E was found to increase the amount of T3 (triiodothyronine) thyroid hormones in cells without suppressing TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) from its natural release. Delta-5-E extended release and half-life Delta-5-E is the dihydroxylated methylcarbonate ester of 7-OXO-DHEA, which is a non-aromatizing metabolite of DHEA that cannot convert into androgens of any sort. The half-life and bioavailability of ordinary 7-OXO-DHEA is marginal at best.
