Prominent Manhattan internist Steven Lamm, M.D., supervised the weight loss program, Registered Dietician Tana Kokol developed the food guidelines, and certified fitness trainer Laura McDonald created the exercise routine. Police officer Michelle Granick
One participant, police officer Michelle Granick, has been a police officer in New York for 18 years. However, her biggest challenge, she said, was not criminals but calories. At only 5'1" Michelle packs a lot of power into her short frame, but at her heaviest weighed 170 lbs. “The extra weight can really slow you down," she says. Sharon Clark is another police officer who had great success. Clark, at 42, had watched her weight gradually increase. Over the years she had gone from a size 10 to a size 18. "Being a police officer is stressful," says Bella, “but getting weight off after childbirth is a big part of the problem, especially when you do a lot of sitting on the job.”

The younger of her two sons was born when Bella was 37 years old. "The post-pregnancy weight was difficult to lose on my own. My metabolism had slowed down. It used to be much easier to drop the weight.” Bella agreed to participate in the EstroLean program and immediately began to have more energy.
