Toasted Whole Almonds
A very rich source of Vitamin E, a natural antioxidant, which plays a vital role
in the prevention of coronary diseases and cancer. Almonds also contain
considerable levels of Vitamin B6. Almonds are also a great source of important
minerals such as calcium (needed for good bones & teeth health), magnesium,
potassium, copper, phosphor and zinc. We made sure each Nutrition Bar contains a
lot more Almonds than you’ll find in other bars.
Organic Quinoa
Organically grown only in the Andean Mountains, Quinoa is called a ‘Supergrain’
because of its excellent nutritional qualities. It contains far more protein
than any other grain and also has a much higher biological quality (BQ) of
protein. This quality is defined by the level of presence of the various amino
acids that allow the body to transform the proteins you eat, into proteins it
can actually use. Eggs have the highest BQ at 95, so out of every 100gr of
protein you consume 95gr are actually absorbed and utilized by your organisms.
At 75, Quinoa scores considerably higher than meat (60), milk (72), wheat (60)
and corn (44). Quinoa has such excellent BQ of protein because it contains the
entire range of amino acids, and in the right proportions. Wheat, Corn and
barley have a more limited range of amino acids, in less usable proportions.
Besides excellent protein, Quinoa has many other benefits. It is very low on
fat, and much richer in iron, calcium, phosphor, fiber and Vitamin E than any
other grain. Vitamins in the B Group are also very well represented.
Last but not least, Quinoa is GLUTEN FREE – contrary to virtually all known
grains – and as such can be safely consumed by people with gluten intolerance.
(celiac disease).
Sunflower oil
Sunflower oil has a high level of Vitamin E and (unsaturated) fatty
acids, both of which are essential since they can not be produced by your body
itself. This high quality of unsaturated fatty acids, combined with its
impressive levels of linoleum and oleic acids, causes sunflower oil to be highly
effective in reducing the risks of blood circulation problems, heart attacks and
other cardiovascular diseases.
Furthermore, an increasing number of studies show that sunflower oil performs
an important role in regulating cholesterol, by helping to ‘drain’ excessive
levels from your arteries’ inner walls. This makes it very effective against
arteriosclerosis.
Soya lecithin
Soya lecithin is an ideal measure against cardiovascular diseases, high
cholesterol or a dysfunctional relation between good/bad cholesterol. Many
scientific studies show that the consumption of soy lecithin lowers the
plasmatic cholesterol and at the same time increases ‘good’ cholesterol by as
much as 46%.
Lecithin plays a rather important role in the metabolism of fat.
Recent studies have shown that the high content of FOSFATIDILSERINA in
lecithin can, in certain levels, be beneficial to the memory and cognitive
capacity.
Corn flakes
Corn is very rich in carbohydrates, vitamins A, B and C, fiber and various
minerals. Corn contains one of the highest levels of fiber in the family of
grains.
Soy crispies
Soy has been given a lot of attention by researchers around the world, who
concluded quite a few big plusses for adding soy to your diet.
For instance:
- Soy can help prevent heart disease.
- Soy has been shown to benefit those with, and prevent, Type 2 Diabetes.
- Soy can help prevent Cancer of the Breast, Colon, Uterus and Prostate.
- Soy can help to prevent osteoporosis.
- The high protein content of Soy can improve athletic performance.
Rice Crispies
Rice is an excellent food to help keep your body healthy.
Rice has the following nutritional benefits:
- Excellent source of carbohydrates
- Good energy source
- Low fat
- Low salt
- No cholesterol
- Low sugar
- No gluten
- No additives
- No preservatives
Corn Syrup
Corn syrup is our choice of sweetener for quite a few reasons, for instance:
Sweetness
High fructose corn syrup provides sweetness intensity equivalent to sugar. High
fructose corn syrup can replace sugar in one-for-one proportions.
Freshness
High fructose corn syrup promotes freshness in several ways. High fructose corn
syrup actually inhibits microbial spoilage by reducing water activity and
extends shelf life through superior moisture control.
Stability
Over time, high fructose corn syrup-sweetened products maintain sweetness and
flavor with no change in sweetness or flavor quality due to storage temperature
fluctuations or low product acidity.
White sesame Seed
White sesame seed contain high levels of unsaturated fatty acids, 22% of
protein rich in amino acids, and 5% of minerals. It also contains high levels of
iron, phosphor, magnesium, vitamins B3 and Mother Nature’s antioxidant vitamin
E. It contains quite a bit of lecithin, benefits of which are explained here:
- The high levels fatty acids found in sesame seed help keep your blood
fluent, and in turn assist in reducing levels of bad cholesterol.
- The calcium found in white sesame seed has an excellent absorbsion level,
and is strongly recommended to help prevent osteoporosis.
- Because of its diverse nutritional structure, white sesame seed is known
to have certain energizing characteristics and can help prevent mental
exhaustion and nervousness.
- White sesame seed improves the oxygen flow in the brain and as such helps
prevent arteriosclerosis.
