He might be gone a little longer than you think then. He's got Airborne school, RIP, etc.. He's in for a ride that's for damn sure:D .

Hard to do for sure! Just remember to pray for them once in a while at least... if you are a cristian that is. Well, even if you are not pray for their safety to whoever you beleive on.

He will probably end up here in Savannah before he goes. It seems like they are getting them out quicker these days but it will still be several months before he goes.

It just kinda sucks though because its one of my closest friends. Its really weird not being able to see him that often. He was also my lifting partner :( Eh, I'll keep ya all updated on how he does and where he ends up.

Ranger school? minimum time is 8 months probably. BT then once they make it to the special forces, they have arctic, jungle and desert warfare training. Rangers take time to complete.

rangers have specialized schools, but really they are just glorified infantry. Delta is the armys true SF. i went through SEALs training, we went to fort benning for jump school, three weeks with the rangers, that was fun, there not to fond of us. Buds is in san diego, coronado island to be more specific. Delta is by invite only and you must go through ranger school first, then wait two years and if Delta likes you, then you recieve an invite.
Tell your buddy good luck man, anyone that goes into the service has my thanks, and anyone tryin out for a special program has my respect. I hope he can run though, many guys make the mistake of lifting and thats it. they actually prefer the abilities of a tri athlete than a lifter.

Well, my friend just got home on leave from B.T. today. He loves the lifestyle and is now trying to get me to join up. I've been seriously debating it for a while now.
