Eating raw eggs

Should I be eating raw eggs or always cooking them??

I've seen people on TV just crack the shell then put it into a cup and drink it like a shot. I know they are a good source of protein.

what are the chances of getting food poisoning??

i use an egg in my protein shakes to make them thicker and taste better. i think its fine to have an egg or 2 raw. but i wouldnt go around drinking 7 a day

You can buy purified liquid egg whites at any regular grocery store. I pour some of those in my shakes and I actually think it makes them taste better. I agree with MU, the texture is much better.

when my diet allows it il use one egg with pre workout shake and post. sometimes il freeze it with less water and make an ice cream. no poisoning problems. i wouldnt worry about it really.

Not just protein... A lot of micronutrients in their raw natural state, as far as protein goes, I think there is less absortion from a raw egg.

Buy the cage free type eggs. Cage free hens supposed to be cleanner, free of chemicals and roids (that might not be good for us, jk...:D ). They live in better enviroment. You'll pay more, but at least it gives me a piece of mind as far as contamination goes. Oh yeah and the eggs the pasteurized before they get boxed in dozens.

however egg beaters is pastuerized, and just as protein rich, comes in liters, you can pick it up at major chains. easy to deal with. just pour and back in the fridge.

how about you just buy egg beaters? They are pasteurized so you can drink them raw without worrying

i just boil a load of eggs at once and keep them in the fridge. then just eat them as a snack or but them in a sandwich. its easy to seperate the white from the yolk.
find this easyer than eating loads of raw eggs
