just wondering how my lifts compared to others. the membership in the gym i supervise is mostly made up of folks 60 years and up. not to many serious lifters.

5'10 198lbs 11.5% bf

bench press 410lbs ----- towel bench is the only way I can do it due to a shoulder injury. towel measures 3 inchs thick

squat 525lbs

deadlift 475lbs

looking for some feedback

well i was thinking maybe my numbers were high until a friend who works as a prison guard was telling me about all of those 180-200 lb guys who were benching 500 plus squating and deadlifting over 600ls

Being in prison is a completely different story. They have all the time in the world to work out. Your #'s are pretty high, you have a better squat than me. :x

One of my buddies at the gym would prolly kill himself if I told him your weight/squat weight is. He prides his legs and gets depressed any time we joke around about him.

I have a bodybuilding friend who is 5'8 215 at 9% bf, his numbers are about the same as yours except the bench, yours is very good. Do you compete at all like in powerlifting?

I have no idea what a towel bench is? And if your shoulder is hurt, why are you not trying to rehab instead of benching?

Whether short on the press or not you should know 400# is a lot and a good squat, assuming depth. Don't listen to your buddy. There are very few people in the country that can put up 2.5+ raw on a bench and have proven it. Now I am sure I will hear stories of how much this guy or my cousin can do LOL! tell them to go to a meet with certified weights and post the video.

That should have been 2.5x. Meaning if you are 200# and you lift 500# you have done your 2.5x bodyweight. PL slang I guess ;)

my best bench press if it helps you out was 625 without a shirt and then the dam dog barked and woke me up little bsterd lol,, i think anything 275 and over is not a weak person so your way above that as far as benching goes.. theres alot of big guys out there that can't bench 200 pounds or even less... those that dont lift probably cant bench 180lbs..lol these guys in prison well i wouldnt say there all benching any more then some of us not in prison just cause there in prison there not any more stronger and they only have very little time to lift not that ive been in prison lol but do like to watch lock down and stuff on tv and prison shows , i could be twisted but i do lol we actually got more free time then they do to lift, they just probably hit it harder so they dont get the solomie lmao:eek: :o

I have had a pt look at my shoulder. the gym I work at is part of a hostital and rehab. I was told I can continue to bench as long as the range of motion didn't hurt. That is why I use the towel. As long as I stop about 2.5 to 3 inchs off my chest the shoulder causes no pain.

no I have never competed in any powerlifting. I play in a couple of basketball leagues ( hence the shoulder injury and torn acl) and compete in some martial arts competions. between that and my 4 and 1 year olds I don't even know when I would have the time.

I know what is considered good lifts acording to bw. I was just looking to see how others around my age were doing. I know my lifts were fairly high but as with anyother sport there's always people doing more or better. Seeing how there is just a few in my gym around my age and the speed clients I work with are either in high school or just going into collage, I was just looking for some comparisons.

Definitely. The bottom 2-3" off the chest is delt hell for injuries. I don't touch the chest on inclines in order to keep the emphasis on the upper pecs! Good numbers as well.
