OK so I am having a problem with this DC style of training. The problem is that once the next workout comes along I am still sore.

Example: On monday I did chest/back/tris/shoulders, on friday, I was still sore from mondays workout. I am used to the 5-7 days of recuperation for muscle groups between training days. It seems wierd because I am only doing 3 sets total for a given muscle, but I am not recovering in time for my next workout.

TOday is supposed to be leg day, but my legs are still sore from wednesday
:(

I think I have to modify my training program, anyone have any insight?

Del, is this your first week on such a program? If so, such 'side effects' are PERFECTLY fine. DOn't worry about the bodypart being sore and having to work it again before its fully recovered (or so you think).

It'll get much better and your body will be beter conditioned for it after 4-6 weeks. Just make sure you're doing DC like Dante laid out and nothing more. You find that with such insane intensity and frequent bombing of the muscles, you really don't need much.

The upcoming leg session, make sure you're 100% MENTALLY. If you are and you believe you can do it, you will. Screw the soreness and go get the job done. Do that and you will be so addicted to such crazy work you won't leave DC.. lol

Make sure you are doing the stretches. this always helped me out a great deal.

Ditto, but I was still always sore up until the next session myself... I just reverted from another 5/2 to a 3/1 and it's kickin my butt, but at the same time, I am loving it. Just push yourself past the soreness and you will adapt fast.

Adapting to DC sucks and adapting back to 1 muscle group per week is even worse!

thanks guys, Ill keep focusing on the stretches, and keep training through.

Wasnt sure if this was abnormal for DC since I just started, but seems common. Which is good.
