Terminator, The standard in protien intake is 1 to 1.5 grams of protien per pound of body weight. I think that you should put forth every effert to consume this much protien a day. Always be eating if you want to gain.

Terminator, if you want to look anything like the Arnold, I would recommend what Superman is saying. I used to eat about 400 grams of protein a day and realized that the only differences that I had was more frequent trips to the can and less money. One thing that you need to consider is how much protein is in your food. If you’re eating a good amount of protein already with your food, you might not need to drink as many shakes. I don’t know about you but I’m ballin on a budget so I make sure not to do more than I need to.

After counting proteins for years, I finally gave up. Now in one day I'll eat 3 high protein meals and 3 protein supplements. Generally this will get me 200 grams.

I think protein intake is different for everyone. You should play with the numbers on a monthly basis to see what works best for you. For me, I weigh 240lbs, but I only take about 180 grams a day and still grow easy.. My partner has to take 2 -2.5 grams per body part to see any growth. That is just my 2 cents.

Everyone's individual needs vary according to a number of factors including genetics, training routines, etc. For myself, to see any growth I have to consume 1.5 to 2 grams of protein per pound. I usually try to go for 2 grams per pound. When I started training, I only weighed 127 lbs. (200 to 205 now). As your body-weight goes up, it gets harder to do, but you must discipline youself to where it becomes habit. My metabolsim is the type in which it is hard for me to gain muscle tissue but fairly easy to add body-fat. I try to keep my body-fat between 8 to 10%. Any lower than that and I have a hard time growing.

everybody is different. this is something you must find out on your own
i work well with any where from 32 to 45 a meal every 2 1/2 hrs.
but i eat whole food meals. only time i take a shake is before my workout and before i lay it down at night. always take with fiber therefore it slows down digestion and egg protein is peferably the best to consume

Have to agree with what many people have said here. Needs vary. I actually responded poorer to < 40-50g/meal , yet grew like a madman as I increased it. Now, 50-60 g/meal is more my current ideal. As LBM increases though, your tallies are likely to continually go up if you are to continue to make progress with physique goals. If you are 100% sure you like the results you have attained with 30 g or less, absolutely --> why change? But as body comp is hopefully changing, do you not think macronutrient tallies will also?
Save some money if you think this is what you need to optimize results...but unfortunately pocket books don't always judge body chemistry.
