Yeah, so I've been buying OTC products for about a year now trying to clear this acne, and...they arent exactly working. If anything at all, its been getting worse. My question is, if I take accutane, will it clear the acne on my upper chest and upper back as well?

Accutane is NOT a miracle...though it is some strong stuff. If you have the appropriate type of acne, it can be coined almost a miracle (at best).
It may take a couple runs of the product to fully clear cystic acneiform lesions from your body, but it can be ok to BOTH body lesions as well as facial ones. I actually required 2 full courses on the product (of which, the time is VERY uncomfortable) to aid mine appropriately and I would obviously suggest MANY supplements be avoided while on the product.
Please discuss this thoroughly with your doctor. I have gone over extensively many of the alternative treatments for acne in PCT:ACV IV - check it out and try and discuss any/all of them with your doctor if you have yet to use them. Alternatively, seek the aid of a dermatologist whom may be more qualified to judge the severity of your lesions anyway.
