I competing in my first powerlifting meet in about 3 weeks and I just want to know about how many days out from the competition should you stop lifting to be at full strength for the meet?

You will not really know this question until you have done a few but here is a generally accepted way- 7-14 before last heavy dead, probably go up to your opener, I like 8 days everyone is different. Do at least some light SQ-mon, very light bp on tue-to get blood flowing. Then I would say W-F off. Some can do a heavy sq on that mon some don't. Really, everyone is different, only you know how fast you recover.

Don't max out until the meet. Don't try anthing inthe gym these last few weeks that you are not 100% sure you will get as to not shake your confidence.

Good luck and have some fun!

No mercy. :x

Not competed yet but the two guys in my group who do take two weeks off before as a rule. The weekend before they will do just some super light flexibility and stretching.

Have fun and let us know what happens!
