Yeah, its been one of "those days" again...but it seems like I've been getting more and more of these days lately. Im starting to lack the motivation to lift and im just not getting pumped up at the gym. I dont know how to explain this, but could it be due to me cuttin calories for my new diet? I dunno...I take NO-Shotgun and its amazing, but I dont get the strength and explosiveness that I used to have :(

Do u feel like this out of the gym too? Anything causing stress in ur life? In the gym u might be overtraining.

i dont know about anybody else, but when i cut for more than 3-4 weeks i get crazy in the head. i try to cut for like 3 weeks, level cals out for a week, then back to the cut. it may help you to stay sharp in and out of the gym.

I believe it does a body good to take a break from everything periodically; dieting, training, and even lifting. I usually lift for about 12 weeks and then anywhere from 1-4 weeks off. If all else fails, this may just be what you need.

Yeh, definitely take a few days to a week off man. Take a break, then on the last day before you go lift, watch "pumping iron" (all-time best vid to watch to get you pumped to lift)

I agree with u guys, but I would still like to know how he feels throughout the day. Any stress or anxiety happening could contribute to his problem.

Don't lift for awhile. You'll realize how much you love it and you'll be dying to hit the weights.

The motivation is all in your mind. I have problems with motivation sometimes as well, you just have to find what lights that fire under your ass. For me, all these things help out:
1) Getting a new song and/or album from a band I like, just recently bought a new Deftones CD, it kicks ass and gets me pumped for the gym.
2) Sometimes I use the pain of loss. I think about what if I needed to be stronger to protect those around me, it gets me motivated to go hit the gym knowing I might need that strength one day to save someone close to me.
3) And of course, knowing that the ladies love teh muscles gets me motivated, don't take my word for it, check out this video :D:

Well, it might be after my workout partner committed suicide, but I didnt think that it would affect me so much. I've been taking breaks unwillingly since I started lifting, so I don't believe its the monotony of lifting.
Should I stop lifting and just do cardio for a few weeks?

Wow, sorry to hear about that AS, that could definitely be the reason... I would just take a break from lifting then. I would never recommend cardio, dinoiii would agree as well.

Yeah, I dislike cardio but I gotta drop the fat...I dont think I can get my six-pac without doing any cardio. If I take a break from lifting, I basically have nothing else to do but study...weather around here is terrible and no one from school lives around me and there is absolutely NOTHING social to do besides going to the mall, and im not willing to walk around the mall doing nothing but talking...because everyone ends up having nothing interesting to talk about and end up talking about something that no one cares for or is completely ridiculous.

My suggestion to you is to look into swimming bro, it can help you lose weight, and maintain some LBM while doing it.
