The MAN Sports website says that "Beta-Alanine binds to both the Glycine and GABA receptors in the brain. By doing so, it can block GABA uptake, and decrease Glutamatergic excitation." (http://manb2p.com/faq.html) I ordered some Dymatize GABA but I havent opened it since im stil waiting on my shipment of Clout to come in the mail. Since Beta alanine has a tendency to interfere with GABA uptake, should I lay off the GABA for my Clout/BodyOctane cycle and save it for my next stack? (I plan on using X-Factor for 50 days as my next supp)

It binds to the glycine receptor more tightly. The greater potency of beta-alanine at the glycine receptor indicates that, if beta-alanine is a neurotransmitter, its effects are more likely to be mediated by glycine receptors than by GABAA receptors.

Is it smart to ingest them simulataneously, I wouldn't - but look at it this way, if you were to have it pre-workout (beta-alanine that is) according to product instructions...this is a time when I wouldn't consume a GABA product to begin with...stimulation of inhibitory NTs is not ideal at this time. The question then becomes how to appropriately time your second dose if dosing at max.

Some questions for you:

[1] Why are you employing the use of GABA to begin?

[2] What effect do you feel it is giving and what aid/difference has it contributed to your training?

The way I would probably take the Clout/Body octane would be a serving of both around 2:30 pm, and the second dose around 8 or 9pm. If i do take GABA I would take it 15-30 min before I sleep which could be anywhere from 11pm to 2am. Im trying out GABA because it supposedly helps make the time that I sleep through more effective and releases more hgh during sleep. Also since I dont get much sleep (around 5-7 hours a night) I thought GABA could help make my sleep more productive. Then again Im no doctor and I can be wrong. What do you think dinoiii?

A potent glutamine powder increases gaba far better then GABA alone. According to the studies GABA supplementation does not cross the blood/brain barrier. Glutamine does. It converts to glutamic acid which is a precursor to gaba.

Theanine works as well. You would be wasting your money with GABA supplementation.

If your looking for quality sleep with GH support. You may want a supplment with L-DOPA. usplabs powerfull is excellent. NEEDS to be cycled though.

I take BULK GABA every night. Nothing else helps me sleep better. I used to have trouble sleeping until I started taking 2g of GABA 15 minutes before bedtime.

I love it, and will continue to use it no matter what type of creatine I am using.

Their have been some studies showing that GABA can help GH support, I don't supplment GABA for that purpose, as I said I supplement GABA because I feel it helps me sleep better.

This is just how I do things, it may be different for others.

I agree, I don't really care about the GH effect, if it increases it then awesome. I've been using Gaba for almost a year now and it helps me fall asleep faster than anything I've used before.

I hear Phenibut works well since it crosses the BBB.

I hear Phenibut works well since it crosses the BBB.

B-I-N-G-O!!! Best one for oral bioavailability.

Without glucose, glutamine is getting you no closer and I personally do NOT encourage simple sugars before bed.

GABA as suggested by AsianSensation does NOT cross the blood-brain-barrier (in case anyone didn't understand his BBB thing). Virtually all of the GABA found in the brain is manufactured there.

Now, HIGH intake of GABA (single administration of 5,000mg) produced a significant increase in plasma-like GH levels, but this is SO NOT COST EFFICIENT AT ALL.

Get you some phenibut if you want to make this count.

"Good" sleep can too be placeboed according to studies. ;)
[waits for the calling on my mother with all sorts of profanities based on posting this onslaught].

Late reply...but has anyone used gaba and phenibut and want to compare them? For those that have used phenibut, which brands have you tried?

APL Phenibut is great. Tastes bad but if you just chase it you'll be fine. Helps out alot. I used to wake up 2-3 times a night now its maybe once.

Doesn't SNS have a capped Phenibut stand alone?

I haven't tried it, but this would avoid the hassle of having to cap your own + it won't allow you to submit to crappy taste. ;)
