My new "Toy"

So I got jealous of this guy http://www.duke.edu/~jwc13/tennisball.html

and i decided, **** him, I want a 300+ mph tennis ball gun. So I made one. :D

i think the shortened barrel has made it a little easier to aim, though its not as accurate, i may screw this barrel off and toss on a 5 or 6 footer. (yes i made it accept interchangeable barrels)

so today i was testing it at 40 psi (30 after the diaphragm valve) and im getting about 200mph out of it, and nice divits in the hillside. testing at 60psi in a a few min. should be able to rip through plywood like his no problem.

ooohhhh yeah. make sure you have a compressor, or i can bring the little one i have but a big compressor would be hours of fun...

actually during distance testing this afternoon at the park an off duty police officer came running over. when he saw it was air powered he looks and me smiles and says "so i see you've read the laws"
cause in CA you cant produce a "zip gun" which is a home made flammable propelled gun. (gun powder, lighter fluid, hairspray)
but air isn't flammable. so my "gun" really classifies under "sports equipment" cause its an air chamber with a release valve. he brought his kids over. they were like 5-8 the three of them were just in awe every time i shot it.
Distance achieved was about 130 yards @ 55psi before the valve(it loses 10psi after the valve due to mechanics of a diaphragm valve), which will change tomorrow when I slap on the larger barrel and chamber. Now that I have the inners working the right way, its time to get some distance/power/speed out of this baby.

It would have been alot cooler if he would have just tazed you, but I guess your story is cool too.

i'm with ya bigboy. this is the last thing the world needs. voodoo has something that can shoot a tennis ball at 300 mph. i'm glad i live in pennsylvania. i dunno though, maybe a couple more tweaks and he could reach me!

we spent st pattys drinking beer and shooting it at each other from opposite ends of a football field. i have the record with 3 catches. or course i also was pegged at 100 yards numerous times, which even at that distance... 40 psi still left a decent red mark

the valve alone costs 70. the rest is cheap though. shipping would cost a fortune. drive out to sd and ill make ya one. youre paying.


on another note, we've decided to make an interchangeable barrel for golf ball shooting. while i don't condone this due to the lethality level, were going to take it out to a driving range and see what kind of distance we get.. also that cart guy needs to die.:o

Bwaahahaha. (Borat voice) Veray Nice. Make on for a type of dart dude... that'd be insane even at like 20psi im sure it would go further than the rest.
