Corzine Signals Intent to Support Rollback for Tax-Exempt Clubs Only
Advocacy Action Needed!
Neither New Jersey Assembly Bill 4065 nor Senate Bill 2269 was voted on this week, although a vote by the Assembly is possible late next week. Both bills would exempt all health clubs, regardless of the entity organizing the club or its profit status, from the 7% sales and use tax.

While these bills are a positive development for New Jersey clubs, Governor Corzine is putting pressure on legislators to exempt only non-profit health clubs from the sales tax.

It is essential that all New Jersey fitness professionals contact Governor Corzine and your legislators NOW to support a sales tax exemption on all health clubs, not just non-profits. A major showing of support is needed! Even if you have written before, spend just a few minutes to help make New Jersey a healthier state by clicking the link below.

We have a sheet to sign at my gym to send in to the assemblymen to support the sales tax exemption. Every gym should have one.

Just trying to keep some money in our pockets. It seems that nowadays someone is always taking away from the workingman.

Where does it end? I'm being taxed just because I wanna stay healthy.
