What does everyone use to measure their own bodyfat? I used to have a regular plastic caliper set, but it was difficult to use on yourself. Anyone have a favorite way?? Also my mom recently bought one of those scales that measure bodyfat also, are they accurate??

For me having someone else do my skinfolds is actually rather convenient since I work at a gym. If I cant get anyone to do it I try to do it myself using the three site method. Sa far as those scales go, they use whats called BIA which stands for bioelectrical impedance analysis. Those type of methods measure your bodyfat by sending an electrical impulse thru your body and measure the resistance that charge faces before being read by the machine. They have a tendency to be inaccurate as your hydration level will have an impact on the conductivity of the electrical charge. Food in your stomach will also have an impact.

YOu use this BBoy? Does it consistently give you accurate results? What are the variances when measuring, and are there any stipulations like not eating before or anything?

i use this very combo. i cant attest to the accuracy as i am still trying to get hydrotested, but at the very least it is great to track results. i didnt read anything about not eating, it shouldnt matter. not eating and drinking only matters for those BIA body fat testers.
