I have been reading here for some time now and never posted, so thanks to those who have contributed to the many articles and threads, they have been very helpful.

I have been taking Sulphamethoxazole/TMP DS TABMPC(dosage unknown/Twice daily) for a staph infection, I have 5 days left, and haven't started any PH's yet.

Will there be a problem with toxicity while taking this antibiotic with Hemadrol and Propadrol?

If so,

How long should I be off the medication before beginning the PH's to avoid any problems?

I am normally a very healthy 29y/o male.

I'm also applying Mupirocin to both nostrils twice daily, if that matters too.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Well my medical education is rudimentary at best (Army medic 7 1/2 yrs), so I just give a basic guideline- PH's(either methylated or not) + antibiotics = BAD IDEA. Finish the run of antibiotics and give it two weeks, at least, before you start. BTW, for those that don't know this- Hemaguno/Epistane/Havoc is not recommended to be used by people with sulpha allergies. I don't think any of the manufacturers have posted this anywhere.

BTW, what makes it a bad idea is one could reduce the effectiveness of the other. You wouldn't want to start a cycle and have it reduce the effectiveness of your antibiotics and have an antibiotic-resistant strain of staph on your hands, would you? It just makes a bit of sense to be patient and get yourself a 100% before you start a nice cycle.

Thanks Solomon, I figured it could be a problem. As for the Sulpha advice, that is good for those who have sulpha allergies, which my wife does, not that she would be using the products mentioned.

I can be patient, staph can be nasty for sure. Thanks again for the advice.

No problem.
