Goodluck Dog, are you doing this cycle out of pocket or for Bill?

Thanks king. I've noticed your log too and wish you good luck as well. I guess you could say I'm doing this cycle for Bill as I'm not "out of pocket" on the product. I volunteered to test and was accepted, but ultimately this is for me. It's something I really wanted to try and am excited about the opportunity to give a fair analysis to the product. If it works I'll say it works, but if it doesn't I feel no obligation to lie and say that it does, free product or not.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I worked chest and tri's last night. I hit them hard and feel it today. It's just the second day, so I don't expect the slight soreness I feel to be X-Factor related yet at this point. I did notice a higher energy level tho when working out last night and a desire to work my chest and tri's harder than normal. That's probably as much of mental thing of me wanting results more than anything else.

Beginning Strength stats (Week 1):

Chest (these are not maxes, just what I normally work out with to exhaustion):
Dumbell Flat bench 75x8x6x6
Barbell Incline 135x8x8x8
Barbell Flat bench 225x6x6x5
Dumbell Flies 40x10x10x8

Tri:
Tricep Machine: 110x10x10x10
Tricep DB Extensions: 75x6x6x6
Tricep Cable Pushdown: 100x6 80x8 60x10 40x10 (Burnout so number of reps differs)

Oh I wasn't questioning your integrity, just wondering if it was a out of pocket test or a supp test. This should be great with the logs we will have on the X-Factor.

I know you weren't King and I apologize if it sounded like I was being defensive. I was just letting people know that I'm taking X-Factor as a "for me" thing even if I am analysing it for Bill. Anything that goes into my body is for me. :P

I had talked myself into trying X-Factor whether it was testing for Bill or by purchasing it myself. Thankfully I got to save a few bucks in the deal in return for giving my analysis of the product.

Worked Shoulders last night and felt that I worked them really well. Had that good burn and tingle that continues even this morning. Legs are still extremely sore from working them 2 days ago. I'm not sure if that is from X-Factor starting to kick in or moreso with the fact that I haven't worked them that hard in several weeks. Definitely feel more energy throughout workout and it seems to take more work to exhaust my muscles than usual, but again that could be the mental aspect of taking something new.

Shoulder Workout (Week 1):
Strict Side Laterals 20 X10X10X10
Military Press Machine 140 X10X10X10
Shrugs 70 X8X8X8
Front Raise 20 X6X6
Barbell Upright Row 115 X8X8X8

Sorry it's been a few days since I last updated my log. Friday is one of my days off, as is Sunday, so there isn't a whole lot to report on the weekends. My weekends are always so hectic anyway.

Anyway I believe the X-Factor is starting to kick in. In my Saturday run and ab workout I felt more fatiqued after workout than normal. Also I've noticed that "warm" feeling I used to get from taking ephedra products as of late. I haven't heard others mention this from X-Factor, so admittedly it might just be in my head, but I'll keep an eye on it and keep you updated.

Tonight I start back through my weekly cycle. Tonight is Chest/Tri's. I plan on trying to push my weights up at least 5 lbs per set to see if I can tell much difference.

Yesterday marked the start of week 2 of my X-Factor trial. I worked chest/tris again last night and saw some slight strength increases. I was able to go up about 5lbs on all exercises. However, I did notice that my endurance didn't last as long as I was completely exhausted by the end of my workout. The first set usually went really well, but I seemed to give out a little sooner on the 2nd and 3rd sets than what I expected. Part of that was from muscle fatigue and from the fact that I added in another exercise for each muscle group.

Also I'm down 3-4 lbs from my weight last week, which is a really good thing as I'm trying to cut some fat, but measurements remained constant.

Chest:
Dumbell Flies 30X12 45X10X10
Barbell Bench 230 X4 205X6X6
Barbell Decline Bench 185X6X6X6
Dumbell Flat Bench 80X6 70X8X7X6
Dumbell Incline Bench 55X8X8X8

Triceps:
Tricep Machine 120X7 110X10X10
Barbell Lying Tricep Extension 85 X8X7X6
Seated Dumbell Tricep Extension 75X6 60X8X8
Tricep Cable Pushdown: (Burnout so weight and number of reps differs)

Tried something a little differently last night. I read an article by Jay Cutler in this issue of FLEX on shoulder workout and just had to try it so I worked it into my schedule tonight. The exercise is pretty brutal so I took somewhat easy for a first try. Basically its 4 exercises with 2 being supersets. You rest 30 seconds after each set/superset combo then 1 minute after 3 full sets of the first phase of set/superset rotation. The entire exercise takes about 15 minutes. I felt a REALLY good pump from this exercise and my muscles got to full exhaustion pretty easily. You only do this exercise for about 4 weeks whether that's only 4 workouts or 8 depending on if you hit one set of muscles twice in a week. I'd recommend this to anyone. This routine is different from my previous so I won't be marking any gains on weight/str this week for shoulders. And since I liked it so much I may not mark gains for the next 3 weeks on shoulders. We'll see how it turns out.

Besides the shoulder workout I went ahead with my regularly scheduled leg workout as well. Legs were a little stronger tonight. I did one real heavy set on SQUAT but backed back off a little on the 2nd and 3rd set because a) spotter had to leave and b) I didn't have my lifting belt with me. Yeah, yeah I know you should never forget that, but I did, so shoot me.

Shoulder:.............................. Sets.............. Reps............Weight (lbs)
Seated Lateral Raises............... 3.................12, 10, 8.......10, 20,30
supersetted with
Seated Front Raises.................. 3.................12, 10, 8.......10,10,10
Rest one minute
Seated DB Shoulder Press......... 3.................10,10,10........30,30,30
supersetted with
Standing DB Shrugs.................. 3.................10,10,10........60,60,60

Legs:
SQUAT 365X5 (+50lbs -3rep) 315X8(same) 275X8(-40lbs)
Seated Calve Raises 100 X10X10X10
Leg Extensions 140X8 (+10lbs) 160X8 (+40lbs) 180X6(+60lbs -2rep)
Lying Leg Curl 140 X8(+20lbs) 120X8 (same) 130X6(+10lbs -2rep)

Overall this was a great workout night for me as I exhausted both parts and felt a pump in my lower back like I haven't felt before. Good pump, good workout, good burn... I give this workout an A!

nicely done dogon. just wondering, how long did your shoulder workout take? somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-30 min?

dogon
April 21st, 2005, 09:08 AM
It took right at 15 minutes. You're supposed to be able to complete it in 15 minutes according to the article I read. It's one of the roughest 15 minute shoulder workouts I've seen. hehe You rest a max of 30 seconds in between each set/superset combo, so your heartrate will be up too during this time. The key is to pretty much stay in motion the entire workout stopping only breifly to catch your breath.

Let me know how it works for you. My shoulders are still sore 2 days later.
.

I didn't get to work out last night (long story), so I decided to get a quick workout this morning at 5:00AM before I went to work. It went decent, but I wasn't as happy with it as usual. I didn't really push for higher weight today (or even normal weight in some instances) as I was still half asleep. I was fully exhausted afterwards, but I was somewhat disappointed with it. Depending on how I feel I might hit Bi's a little more tomorrow morning.

Back:
Lat Pulldowns: 120 X15
Cable Row: 120X10X10X10
Dumbell Rows: 50X10X10X10

Bi's:
Standing DB Curls: 20X15 30X8 30X8
Barbell EZ Bar Curl: 105X8 110X8 110X8
Seated Incline DB Curls: 20X10X10X10

Yes I've noticed that and I like it... A LOT.

Also to answer the other question, no I haven't noticed any increased ACNE.

Also the workout that I thought was bad Friday obviously wasn't. I've NEVER been as sore as I was Saturday and Sunday in my ENTIRE arm (not just biceps) and my back. I think the "switch" flipped for me over the weekend. The feeling went from soreness to almost pain. (What's that saying "no pain, no gain".) I always felt better after a little stretching and as long as I was moving about. If I stopped for extended amounts of time I noticed a good bit of stiffness. Woke up this morning feeling wonderful, however.

I did a little cardio Saturday and worked in the yard all day, cutting down some trees, mowing, etc. Sunday was an off day. Tonight I'll be working chest/tri's again and I'm ready to hit the weights hard again this week.

So far I'm liking what I see from X-Factor. I didn't like the stiffness and pain this weekend, but I can live with it. I've lost 5 lbs since starting X-Factor 2 weeks ago. I haven't taken any measurements lately, so no update on that.

Try the 5X5 set method for a while. Lift real heavy for only 5 reps on 5 sets. This gets you into heavier weights. Also there is some info in the training section on the "chains" thread I posted which you may find helpful.

Either way it does take time so be patient brother. :)

Thanks ghost. I've been looking for a good chest routine. I like the rest of my routines I just feel like I could be getting more out of my chest routine. I'll take a look at it and see where it gets me.

I think I'm gonna stick with that shoulder routine I tried last week. I REALLY liked it. Did you give it a shot Max and if so what did you think?

Last night I worked Bi's and Back. I have never had the pump that I got last night on bi's like that before. I couldn't stop looking at myself in the mirror. It really got me "pumped" up. (Pun intended)

NOTE: Below I put down the preacher machine I worked on. It's a somewhat awkward machine and different from other Preacher curl machines I've seen before. The "decline", if you will, is a lot different and puts more pressure directly on the biceps. I had to lower what I thought I could do weight wise witn this machine from doing normal preacher curls.

BICEPS:
Standing EZ Barbell Curl 105X10 125X8 135X7 125X8 105X10
Preacher Machine (Awkward Machine 90X10 80X10 90X10 80X10 80X10
Straight Bar Cable Curls 90X15 100X10 90X10 100X10 110X8
DB Curls 40X8 30X12 30X8 (arms were exhausted at this point)
(Kicked in a few more reps of hammer curls and standing DB curls to exhaust my arms to the point they felt like they were gonna fall off, but I didn't keep tabs)

BACK:
Lat Pulldown 50X30 (warmup) 140X8 160X8 140X8 140X8 70X30
Bent Over DB Rows 55X8 55X8 60X8 55X8 55X8
Lower Cable Rows 120X8 140X8 120X8 120X8 120X8
Chinups

Overall I felt really good about last night's workout. I have been concentrating on feeling fully exhausted more lately than pushing for getting heavier weights. My weights have stayed about the same this week, but I am feeling a lot better doing them and have a lot more energy and less fatigue factor.

Weight is staying about the same now pretty much, max. Which can also be a good thing I suppose if I'm actually replacing fat loss with muscle. Pumps are good and usually last an hour or so after workout. While not staying "pumped" I have noticed muscles continue to have a harder, fuller look about them days later even.

Last night I worked shoulders and legs. I had a lot to do last night so I ran a fairly quick workout, but it was a good one and I'm feeling it hard today. I've learned that it throws your body in a shock if you speed up your process from time to time and throw your body a curveball. I was going more for speed, quick turnaround to next set, and endurance last night resting only 30 seconds between sets and 1 minute between differing exercises. It was fun, but exhausting at the same time.

Yeah Dog, that feeling of fullness and hardness in the muscles is a great feeling. I feel it the most in my forearms, but that just is probably because they are always right in front of me. I also noticed my veins are visibly bigger.

Didn't do a whole lot over the weekend. I had several projects I had to get done. I did get a little cardio in on Saturday. I plan on doing Chest/Tri's again tonight. Looking forward to the start of another great workout week.

King, I've noticed my arms are bigger too, even tho my biceps are not quiet a full quarter inch (very close) from where I started. But man do I love it!

Had one of my best workouts to date last night. Last night I worked Legs/Shoulders. My legs felt unstoppable. I haven't been doing Squats every week because fear of messing my knees up. I decided to try to them again last night and to push myself to see how much I've gained since first starting X-Factor. I was VERY happy with my results last night.

I'm now a little over halfway through and below you will find my overall progress for legs to date.

Legs:
Squat 315X6(-2reps) 385X5(+70lbs-3rep) 405X5(PR! +90lbs-3rep) 385X5 385X5 (+2 sets)
Standing Calve Raises 315X8 for 5sets (+65lbs-2 reps on all sets. Added 2 sets all of these are PR's as well)
Leg Extensions 170X8 (+40lbs) 190X8 (+60lbs) 200X7 (+70lbs-1rep) 200X8 200X8 (+70lbs and 2 more sets)
Leg Curls 170X5(+50lbs-3reps) 180X5(+60lbs-3rep) 180X5(+60lbs-3rep) 180X5 160X5 (added 2 more sets)

I've laid off of the Flat BB Bench for a few weeks. It was part of my disappointment. I'm thinking that if I can block it out of my head a few weeksn and just work on strength it will take care of itself. My other lifts on chest continue to improve, just not Flat BB Bench. With that in mind I think a lot of it has been in my head. Call this a "test" to see if that is in fact the case. Also I forgot to mention that I noticed the soreness from when I first started X-Factor again. I had gotten used to it or it had decreased to some extent, but man I felt great yesterday with that tingle.

Last night was a night off, but I'll be hitting it hard and heavy again tonight.

This has been a hell of a week. Hence the reason I haven't posted in a few days. It's a long story and I won't get into it here. Just know that I worked out BI's and Back Wednesday and didn't get to work out last night. Everything is still looking good. Hopefully my log will be back on track next week. Sorry for no real updates this week. Everyone have a good weekend!

Last week was a crazy week. Sorry I didn't get on to post my progress for the week. I did work the same routines and changes were about the same. If I get time I'll go back and post them. One of my best programmers quit last week, so my work load has doubled if not tripled, so my time on here is fewer and further between. Hopefully things will get back on track soon. Have a good week all.

Still feeling great and seeing progress in the mirror as well. Can't wait to hit my fat burning cycle after this to really see some of the difference. I have a week of X-Factor left. I'll be taking maxes next week to see the progress I've made in strength gains and will post my final report sometime the next week.

Yesterday marked the last day of taking X-Factor. I will be taking my measurements and testing my lifts throughout this week and will be posting them shortly at the end of this week. Overall I was very satisfied with X-Factor and would definitely recommend it. I will be posting my final analysis within the next few days.

FINAL RESULTS ARE IN!!!

Sorry for taking so long to get back. It has been a long week and I am just now getting around to taking my final measurements. I must say I was shocked at the gains I made. I knew I had made good gains, but I had no idea how good. Below are my beginning and ending measurements.

Measurements:
Chest: Before 43 Now 45.5 (2.5 inches)
Waist: Before 40 Now 39 (-1 inch)
L. Bicep: Before 16.25 Now 17 (3/4 inch)
R. Bicep: Before 16.5 Now 17 (1/2 inch)
L. Quad: Before 25 Now 27.5 (2.5 inches)
R. Quad: Before 25.5 Now 28 (2.5 inches)
Calves: Before 16.5 Now 17 (1/2 inch)
BF%: Before 18% Now 15.9% (2.1 % decrease)
Weight: Before 238 Now 235

Gains:
My biggest gains came in legs. I went up 90lbs with equal reps on squat. DB Flat Bench went up 20lbs per DB with equal reps. Barbell Incline went up 40lbs. Tricep Machine went up 90lbs. (Triceps were another area I feel I had really big gains in.) Barbell Curl went up 40lbs. Calve raises went up 70lbs as well as leg extension up 70lbs and leg curls up 60.

Final Words:
I was somewhat skeptical of X-Factor at first but was bound and determined I would give it a fair trial. I took NO other supplements while on X-Factor besides protein powder and bars. I didn't notice any side effects while on X-Factor either. The first week after X-Factor kicked in I did experience some pretty intense soreness that would usually reach it's peak 2 days after working a body part. After about the first 4-5 weeks of supplementation I didn't notice this soreness, but continued to feel a full muscle exhaustion after each workout.

I haven't taken supplements before and this was my first attempt at one. If my future experiences turn out as well as this one has I will be one happy man.

Now I am trying to cut my body fat percentage down some more as I'm still not happy with that "tire" I have around my waist. I am taking an Ephedrine/Caffeine/Green Tea stack along with a multivitamin and Fish Oil. After about 6 weeks of this I am thinking of trying a SNS CE2 Matrix stack with something else TBD. I'm thinking some NO product maybe. Any suggestions?

Dog right now I'm doing that review for AE2 and the Noz Supercharged. If you follow that it might help your decision.

Afterwards I am looking to lose a little BF so I will see what products you use and if you like them. Hopefully the AE2 and Noz Supercharged will be a good stack and I can recommend them to you.
