He was the guy that picked me up from replacement in 1998 at Ft.Bragg, N.C.
I found the pic on IDS's site a few months back and saved it. He owns a supplement shop right outside of post now. Its funny, b/c at the time I was about 140lbs and this guy walked in and gave a very weird impression of what I was in for. BTW, he almost never wore a standard uniform. He could never get one tailored correctly to fit him. He was almost always In P.T. uniform. He also had trouble jumping with us, b/c he was too big to get out of the C-130's. When we switched to jumping out of C-17's, I think it got a little easier for him.

LOL...., if I had a dime for every time somebody thought I knew a friend or relative that was in the military.................. JK, nah, I probably don't, b/c I didn't even go in until '97. 82nd is the land of former and about to be rangers. At ranger bat, they threaten you with sending you to the 82nd.

There was/is a small airborne unit in Anchorage. The 501st PIR. They were part of the 101st during WWII, it became part of the 82nd during the 1950's, back to 101st during the 1960's, deactivated after Vietnam, and then reactivated and assigned to the 6th Infantry Divison. They have been reorganized once again into the 25th Infantry Division. They are in Iraq right now. This is the Geronimo Brigade.

I left in early 2005 for good. I was there from 1998(with a few detours in Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq), so its been a welcome change of scenery away from FayetteNAM.
