Some Ironman winners banned for EPO steroids
Front page of west hawaii today newspaper sport section here in Kona because the ironman is a BIG thing here. You can check it out at :

http://www.ironmanlive.com

on race day for the live webcast. Also you can see my condo cause the damn helecopter with the video cam hovers like 50 feet over my roof as the race course goes right by my condo complex entry driveway. Actually there are two of them. Can't even drive out of my house on race day cause road is closed.

Nina Kraft will be ineligible until Oct. 16th 2006. Nina won the women's 2004 ironman triathalon world championship but was stripped of her title after testing positive for EPO (erythropoietin)

Rutger Bekem, 2003 runner up and 2004 5th place finisher, received an 18 month suspension after testing positive for EPO by the Flemish Doping Commission. He is appealing and is in litigation with the Belgian Federation.

Katja Schumacher is appealing her doping case with the German Triathalon Union (DTU). Until that case is resolved, Ironman will be imposing a provisional suspension.

These people run right past my condo!
