Has anyone tried these bars? I absolutely love them, they have real peanuts in them and taste like a candy bar. I used to eat Designer Whey's Zanzibar and really like the nutritional stuff in those but the taste was lacking and it was a bit chewy. I also have tried Chef's Jay's Rage bars and I really think the Oh Yeah bars are so much better.

How much protein in those? How about transfat and calories?

I believe its 26 grams of protein and no trans fat and somewhere around 380 calories.

Ghost, I'm not sure if you were one of the X-Factor guys but the Oh Yeah bars might have some Flax in it. I would check the ingredients, just to make sure.

No I am not in the X Factor test Group. I didn't want to take the reisk of a system wide inflammatory agent at 40 years old.
I actually try to get Flax oil. Put it in the smoothies, etc.

These bars are great. Much like the original Detour Bars, but with bigger peanuts. Not good for keto diets.

OK they taste GREAT. A nice change from the average protein bar. BIG peanuts. Anyway I need a variety of bars to add to my diet so this will be one of them.

Glad you like them Ghost. I thought they were outstanding also. Too bad I can't eat them anymore, damn X-Factor, haha.

Protein bars are easier to review. You just eat one and say how they taste. You don't have to keep logs and evaluate their effectiveness over a 60 day period.
Hard to get into a flame war over them too.

Haha yeah. We could start arguing about uhhh....yeah you really can't argue about protein bars.

Wait! Let's work on this.... there has to be something related to protein bars we can argue about. Just give me a bit longer to come up with something.

i can help you guys out.
the protein in them usually isnt very good quality, neither are the carbs, they are high in fat, and have lots of fillers
(but i still eat them occasionally  )

OK stallion, thanks. I am trying real hard to get worked up and mad about your statement somehow. :)
Maybe an overdose of M1T is required to form rage on this issue.
Were you refering to OH yeah bars specifically or protein bars in general with that comment?
italionstallionl
April 15th, 2005, 01:01 PM
just in general
but imo these are good if you need some extra protein and cals, i havent had any adverse affects from eating them every once in a while

April 15th, 2005, 02:11 PM
AHHHHHH, I HATE THAT YOU THINK THE PROTEIN IN THEM IS NOT GOOD QUALITY, WHAT ARE YOU MR. QUALITY CONTROL? FILLERS!!! WHAT ARE FILLERS!!!! THEY AREN'T LISTED IN THE INGREDIENTS.

April 15th, 2005, 05:47 PM
why do you hate that?
here are some things i am not a fan of that are contained in these bars:
soy protein isolate (second ingredient in the bar)
Hydrolyzed Gelatin
Chocolate Liquor
Maltitol
Cocoa Butter
Sodium Caseinate
Milk Fat
Soy Lecithin
Sugar
Corn Syrup
Maltitol Syrup
Butter
Glycerine

Ok those Trioplex Oatmeal raisen protein cookies got here. 21 grams of protein is a lot to cram in those little cookies. THey taste good, but OH yeah Bars are still the best by far. There was some delay in getting the cookies because DA didn't have them in stock when I ordered so I had to wait.
Good to have some variety in the choice of protein snacks.
The protein is listed with soy protein isolate first and whey protein isolate second

ghost, i dont know if they carry both kinds of oh yeah bar here, but i picked up 1 bar from my local nut shop to give it a try...it was a peanutbutter coating, with the peanuts and caramel, and a chocolatey center....pretty good

why bother with the "oh yeah" bars. They look like a candy bar by thier nutritional info

Hey wedg, don't be dissin' my oh yeah protein bars! They do have 26 grams of protein and most candy bars don't have that. It is nice to be able to get your protein from a variety of different sources, considering how much protein we have to imbibe.

I saw recently that they had a new flavor of Oh Yeah! bars and I tried it only to find it to be good but not near the level of the chocolate. I'm more of a chocolate person though.
