I would't mix it up at 7 if you weren't goin to drink it till 5, however, I've made up a few drinks to consume in between classes, which i made at aroun 7 and drank at aroun 10 and 1. dinoiii would know about how well protein lasts and/or begins to breakdown once its in a liquid form.

Protein degradation/denaturation does NOT occur in this manner. If you were heating protein, this is sure-fire way to destroy important peptide bonds linking the aminos (dentaturation).

The only suggestion I would offer is that if you mix any fats with it that you keep it free from the light (due to oxidation). Actually fats usually should be stored in a light-free container. Hope companies like VPX, etc... are reading.

Summary in Easy-Read Fashion:
1. Protein alone - no problem! Mix it in the AM if you prefer. One could consider the addition of "other" macronutrients (i.e. - carbs, fat) beneficial dependent upon goals though.
2. Protein + Fat - store away from light, but pre-mixing is fine.
3. Protein + Carbs - no special storage requirements, however, one may question the point of mixing in carbs outside a post-workout realm AT BEST(even those on a "bulk" diet).
