Lets here what inspired everyone to start training.
For me, my uncle used to train people for local shows in Colorado and was big himself. He really motivated me to Train.

My motivation to start training was because I was self-concious. When I started working out, I only weighed 127 lbs. and was very insecure because of that.
That's part of what lead to my desire to be a part of SNS, because I enjoy helping others achieve their own individual fitness goals. I enjoy the customer interaction part of this industry and really try to go out of my way to help people, no matter what their individual goals are.

what inspires me is fighting. not street violence but boxing and mma. for me i want to be able to defend myself. when i watch these studs mow through their opponents i cant explain how much i want to be like them. also for general health. its the holidays and ive gained a few extra pounds and i can feel my heart beat harder and its a drag so i have to work out harder tomorrow.

I was actually a former fat-ass to be completely honest as opposed to skinny guy. I was pushing >325 lbs. (max 349) while in the 5th grade! Would say probably > 50% BF!!! These are NOT exaggerated numbers which is the scary part. I have too many painful pictures as momentos as well as most people dont believe it.
At that age, let's face it...kids are cruel!
Today I am 215 at roughly 7% BF (10 years later, though at 4-5 yrs. I really peaked!). Genetics truly be damned!

Because of current access to it, my BF% was calculated via both Hydrostatic Weighing + Bioelectrical Impedance (both done seperate and were within .034% of each other.

As I got older (i'm 38) my stomache kept growing and growing and growing. I couldn't fit any of my shirts... it was ridiculous, really! I looked in the mirror and weighed myself (247) and said something's gotta give. My bodyfat is still high probalbly between 10-20%, but I look and feel like a whole new person. Cats that haven't seen me in a minute ask me if i'm smoking crack  . That's good and bad because i'm trying to bulk up now. I want to send pictuures of myself so you guys can lead me in the right direction.

My story...I have always had pretty good muscle tone (not trying to sound like a jerk) even as a yougster...played football is HS and all (now 32yrs old), just from genetics I guess. People use to ask if I lifted[weights]. The reality was I didn't know jack about lifting...what to do for what muscles...and my strenth didn't match what my body looked like. So between reading books and a good friend that guided me in the gym for a while everything came together...and I have been loving it since. Take care of the body and the body will take care of you.

I'm pretty much in Dinoii's shoes.
From when i was an infant until about 3rd grade I was a stick figure. No muscle, no weight to me, I was tiny.
4th and 5th grade came and for some reason during this pubescent state I became a total fatass. I was a blimp, about 180lbs and short as hell! Obviously that resulted in being picked on ect. The weird thing was that my diet wasnt that bad and I played hockey 4-6 times a week including practices...i still dont get it- all i can think of is that my mother's side of the family all are heavy for some reason.
Summer before high school I worked my ass off every day. I'd wake up and go jogging, I'd have hockey in the afternoon, and I'd lift weights at night....I know now that this wasnt good for muscle mass which explains why i didnt get as big as i wanted. However my weight started to go down.
When i started Highschool i looked VERY different but was still pretty chunky. I went to GNC and bought Ripped fuel with ephedra. That supplement is what brought me to see the new world of supplementation and helped me ditch the lbs and add mass.
Now I'm just addicted :)

I want to send pictuures of myself
This I will do shortly as well. You guys are gonna see some crazy transformations from 14 years of this stuff (recalling the first 4 years were inconsistent training).
Celebrating 15 years playing in this industry and it still intrigues me as much as it did years ago.

Hmmm...ok, well I think when I saw Predator in 1987, and saw Scharzenegger holding that large gatlink gun with his biceps peaking... that did it for me, I am 14 at the time...so it all kinda blew me away.....
Well, as many of you you know, I am an Aussie, and in 1988, the city where I used to live Brisbane-Queensland (where IFBB Pro Luke Wood is also from) held the World Expo.... as part of that celebration that last 6 months, they held that years Mr Universe....
My Mom and Dad agreed to let me have the day off from school to take me there, well while they were not overly into it, It just changed my world.. the winner that year was Pavol Jablonicky, who later on became an IFBB pro himself and still regularly competes...
There ya go!
