I've read a lot of people recommend iron free multi's..... why is this? i heard iron possibly gives you energy, just wondering what the bad side effects are.

High iron levels have been associated with a slightly increased risk of cancer and heart disease, probably because excess iron can cause cell damage. during their child-bearing years, women need about 1.5 times as much iron as men. most men get pleanty of iron from their diet.
you can get some fish oil pretty cheap at wal-mart.

Fish Oil
EPA : DHA - 2:1 ratio tallying over 3 grams per day for cardiovascular and other anti-inflammatory benefits though.

Plus when you go way overboard on iron it causes internal bleeding. Nothing major but you can tell when your poop looks like someone threw dirt in the toilet.

I would agree that oral iron supplementation does turn your stool black (similar in appearance to a GI bleed), but iron does not cause bleeding - the black stool is a chem reaction in oral iron supplementation.
