Hi, I use to play soccer in high school and was in really great shape, 180lbs and toned, but I am in college now, ha. I've been running the last month every day, 1 mile or more, I'm 6'2 but I use to weigh 205lbs, now I'm at 193 after I decided to attempt to get rid of my gut. People say I look a lot thinner and such, but my pant size has only dropped 2 sizes from a 38 to a 36. Most, or not all my extra weight is in my stomach area. I do not want to get crazy huge like a body builder, but just want my 6pack back and a nice toned body with some cuts. Playing soccer got me that before, but all I do now is study and drink. I was looking at suppliments to help me with this, but there are so many, and I am overwhelmed and don't know what to believe. I was looking at Gold Standards Whey Protein because I use to take that in high school, and I have always heard about Hydroxycut. Looked up reviews on the Hydroxycut and people go both ways, some trashing the company that makes it and what not or some saying it's better than sex. Sorry for going on and on, I just want to do this the right, best, fastest way if thats even possible, hah. So please, anyone that sees what I'm trying to do, and has any suggestions of what product(s), I can buy and see results, please let me know. All I want to do again is get rid of my tummy, and see my nice toned vain in my bicep like I use to be able too. Thanks and look forward to hearing some solutions!

Well Weez, first of all...i would have to say No to Hydroxycut. I took the stuff over the summer to help me "slim" down a lil. The product def. didnt do that for me. It just made me poop out everything i ate 30 minutes earlier. End of story i didnt like it.

i have another thought for you. Why dont you join a soccer league at your college? At the college i am attending we have two leagues, the college sponsored one and the the city wide league. So i am sure urs will have one or the other in your area. Again playing in a league will help you a lot more than that hydroxycut. Also i dont know if youd like but my college offers PE classes to help studetns stay in shape and get an easy A. I am currently taking swimming and that class has kept me in shape this year. I have def. toned up and can see my six pack. And i am just the third week into the semster.

Ok well after all that, haha, i took some creatine freshman year in college and i had very good results. I had a high rep program to help cut my body. I think thats what you should do and focus on some ab workouts to help lose some of that gut. Just some thoughts for you to consider. Hope everything goes well for you.

Agreed, Creatine is a good supp. we need to address other issues first:

1. u need to get over the beer thing bro, college is fun to party it up, but partyin needs to be limited to once a week, and no post party food, that is all stored as fat.
2. increase the cardio, esp. if u plan on drinking, u need to burn more calories than u take in, and I would double the amount of calories in beer just because in excess it is that detrimental to success.
3. Lift! lifting weights can help you rid some of those fat stores and at a faster rate than cardio. start with 3times per week, look up the push pull system, then increase from there, stick to the 8-12 range for major muscles and 10-15 for minor
4. Eat better, chances are if you're a drinker and in college most money is goin to yer boy who's pickin up the cases for the weekend, again cuttin that will help here. Eat whole foods first. Get some good carbs, oatmeal, fruits, whole grain breads, red potatoes, green veggies. Good protein, fish, poultry, lean cuts of beef. Good fats, olive oil, fish oil, reduced fat peanut butter. If you wanna cut some weight, do a simple multiplication to figure a rough amount of calories you need by multiplying your bodyweight by 15. Then decrease your cal.s weekly to continue to lose more weight, do it by cuttin 250 cals of your daily intake.
5. Now, look into some supp.s like creatine, a good multi-vitamin, vitamin c, vitamin B-complex, efa's

Some good points hit on by others here, I will offer some others I beleive will be of some value...

-Drop the cardio, if you are not hitting the gym, and its the only form of 'exercise' your getting, then keep doing it, but by no means is this optimal at all for your goals of leanness.

-Find your maintenance calories by muliplying your weight by 16, then take that number and subtract 20% of it if you want to 'cut', add 20% if you want to 'bulk'. 20% either above or below is a good starting point, from there you would adjust that number

You may want to try a carb cyclic diet, some state this type of diet offers greater fat loss than a mere caloric deficit.

-Drop the booze, eat well, train hard (in the gym) and get plenty of rest. Supplements are just that... a SUPPLEMENT to an already good diet, they will NOT make up for any deficies in that department.
