What pre-workout supplements are best for taking right after you wake up? I've used NOxplode, thermo burst, fast twitch, and just some plain ol' xenadrine- each by themselves to try and get amped up for my morning lift. They are all recommended for an empty stomach, so I figured them as a good AM boost. The fast twitch seemed to have the greatest effect followed closely by NOxplode. I still seem like my eyes are rather heavy at times throughout my workout, and I find myself kind of daydreaming and taking generous rests between sets. If I take these same supplements after work and a snack, I seem bushy eyed and more focused on hammering out my next set. Is there a beneficial quick snack to eat when you wake up that might help you get the most of your pre-workout "medicine", or does anyone know of a good "wake your a** right up to lift" supplement to take not more than an hour before AM workout? I do usually get about 8 hours of sleep every night as well.

first of all, eat a good breakfast. with some carbs that pack energy.
1 cup oats (dry measure) with 2tbsp of honey and vanilla extract and cinnamon
10oz skim milk
3 whole eggs
1 piece whole wheat toast w/ jelly
thats my breakfast, u may wanna cut out the toast n jelly.
Then about half hr later take some superpump 250 or no-xplode, then half hr later is your workout

Is there a way to be hungrier in the morning? I usually try not to eat much after 9 or 10 at night, but when I wake up, I have no appetite whatsoever. Any way to trick my body into thinking I need food first thing in the morning?

hey home grown, i am in the same spot you are. i work out at 5:30 in the morning, about 2 hours prior to eating breakfast. i use ergopharm amp and i am never sleepy once that stuff kicks in. as far as eating brealfast you just have to force yourself to eat, your body will get used to it and then it will be easyier down the road

Hey NightTrain, do you eat breakfast before you workout? If so, are you taking the ergopharm at like 3 a.m.?

home grown, im in the army, and i have first formation at 05:30. i hold the formation ofr accountability purposes and then i go to the gym. i usually get there around 5:45. I take the AMP at around 4:50-5:00 that gives it about 45:00 to start kicking, i love the stuff. but i have read that you should only take it for your major workouts, like 3-4 times a week as your body will get used to it and then it will not give you the best boost of energy. hope this helps out. oh i eat breakfast at 7:30-8:00, so i work out first then eat. later Bro, 'train

Does anybody have a supplementation schedule that "rotates" pre-workout goodies to avoid "getting used to them". Many of the products I have used worked very good the first 4 or 5 of times I used them, but the effects seemed to diminish after I used them repeatedly. I lift 4-5 times a week, so I am trying to boost my energy often. I have usually used one product at a time, because I only buy one pre-workout supplement at a time. I think it might be wiser to use several products a week to prevent my body from absorbing them with no reaction. I may spend a little more purchasing multiple products, but once I have acquired all of them, they will last me several months as I only will use each product 1-2 times a week. Anyone hear me?

Well, i'd say get some decent creatine/arg supp.s, I enjoy the superpump250 @ 1scoop and cvm @ 1scoop as well, I take the sp250 preworkout and the cvm post workout, and take the cvm only when i don't workout. this should help keep u from adapting to the supp.s u are takin.
