Swoll On Iron mentioned this in a recent post which got me thinking about it again.

I have a limited understanding of this-anyone know how long it takes to get back to normal? Are we talking with proper length between cycles? Or are we talking constantly changing products and not repeated for longer than that like a year for example? Or is it just all products do this cumulatively and the same time period applies?

Hope this make sense-typing at work.
