True Life: i'm on steroids

ON that true life episode Peter says he has low testosterone and can get a legal steroid. How did he figure this out? And does anybody know what he took?

never saw the show, but you figure it out by going to the doctor and having your test levels checked. I am sure if he had low test, he was getting testoterone injections from his doctor as part of his hormone replacement therapy, either that or a transdermal gel he applies his self
