I've been watching the combines and lookin at the results of the pro days. I have to say Jay Cutler is giving Leinart a run for his money. Anybody have any imput on the draft or these 2 guys?

Haha come on Cutler. He is getting one of those great draft stocks, but there is no way he gets drafted above Leinart.
Though his one game against Florida was sick. Nearly beat them at THE SWAMP. That was pretty impressive.

Leinart is an overrated bum anyway. Put any AVERAGE QB with that offense and I bet they look about the same, if not better than Matt. I do not believe he is anything more than a medicore qb. Reggie Bush on the other hand..... thats a different story. ;-)

I thought it was crazy that Vince Young's stock dropped a little cause he didn't score well on the wonderlick test, give me Young over any QB this year what he did last season was unreal esp. in the championship game.

Clickster I will have to go against u on that one look at Carson Palmer and what he did, and look at him now, I agree Reggie Bush made the offense also White was awesome but Leinart is good too, its not like at Texas Tech where u can just throw anyone in their offense and pass for 400 yrds a game.

bush is by far the best player in the draft but if i had to pick a qb a i would agree with UNC and say Young is the man. he makes good decisions in the pocket has a good arm and can scramble. he is like Vick only slower and with better accuracy.

Young though is the most powerful QB though... in the championship game did you see him break tackles and overpower USC's defense, thats impressive. As for most impressive RB in the draft it is DeAngelo Williams. One of the leading rushers
Bush in 2004 had 908 yards rushing and in 2005 1740
Williams in 2004 had 1948 and in 2005 1959 and he missed a game this year!
In my opinion he is battle tested while Bush's endurance is questionable since he never carried the load sharing time with white and usc's other stars.
I bet Cutler goes #3 to Tennesse Titans...As for Leinart, i dont know where he'll end up

What about Garrett Wolfe? The running back from Northern Illinois. That guy gets no respect because he is in the MAC. But he ran all over some other big schools including Michigan and Northwestern.
He ran for over 1500 yards in the past two seasons, and in the past two seasons accounted for 34 TD's on the ground. Then he doesnt get to play all the game when they are winning big, and sat out 3 games last season.
He is a beast.

Cuder and Click come on.
Click how is a QB that nearly won the heisman 2x overrated and brought his team to two national championship games, and won one. Plus I have yet to see a mock draft where Leinart is not ahead of Young. I don't agree that Cutler is ahead of Young, but Leinart is the best of the three. And Young will not be able to run like that in the NFL. I know you will probably bring up that Vick can run in the NFL why not Vince. Because for one Young is not as fast. He was clocked at 4.58 in the 40 today and Vick was in the low 4.4's. Young isn't even the fastest QB in the draft. Secondly, Vick hasn't even been in the top 20 passer ratings in the past 3 years. We can compare Leinart to someone like Palmer and see where he has gone. Palmer could have lead his team close to a super bowl if Von Oellenhoffen (sp?) didn't do a number on his knee.
I'm not even going to reply that someone thinks that DeAngelo is better than Bush. DeAngelo had over 100 more carries than Bush. Bush had almost a yard more per carry over the second guy behind him. That is nuts.
Then again the draft is a something where a can't miss, Ryan Leaf, and a nobody, Tom Brady, can have the exact opposite in careers.

Cuder - you can't compare Bush and Williams numbers. Bush was taken out of games early because they had such a big lead in many times. If he had played all game every game like Williams, he would have blown him away. Williams is a great RB, but Bush is still the top. That might change in the pros because its hard to tell how much a RB will adapt to the different style of play, but at the college level there is little comparison.
Clickster - Garrett Wolfe might have some great numbers, but do you remember Travis Prentice from Miami (OH)? He tore it up every game and broke several records but didn't produce at all in the NFL. I think that the competition in the MAC has gotten a lot better since Prentice's day though, so who knows he could be the next "unknown" RB that tears it up in the NFL.
As for Leinart vs. Cutler, I'd take Leinart but it is nearly impossible to predict how successful a QB will be in the NFL. Many QB's that are top draft picks flop and some low round QBs (Tom Brady - 6th round I think) end up making huge impacts. Supposedly Cutler has really been impressing the pro scouts lately though, I even heard that he might get picked ahead of Young, but I don't see that happening.
Just my opinions...I'm no expert by any means

I can see Lendale White (USC) making an impact somewhere. He could have started for almost any team, but having Reggie Bush on your team makes it almost impossible to win the starting job. I would bet on him being a good mid-round pick up though.

Yeah some people forget that White was the Pac-10 Freshman of the year the same year as Bush.

Lendale White reminds me of a faster Jerome Bettis, he has a ton of power and he has better moves, imagine if Bush wasn't on the USC squad, there is no telling the numbers he could have produced. I have a feeling, a weird feeling that Jay Cutler might make an impact in the NFL, not sure why but I do have a feeling.

Goddamn I love talking sports.
As for Wolfe, he isn't coming out. He is still going to be a stud at NIU next year. Shatone Powers is going to be a monster on that team, especially once he can get acclimated to the WR position.

I like this forum!
As for Cutler, he went to Vanderbilt, A nothing football team that plays in the SEC, if you dont know the SEC produces more NFL players than any other conference
Shocker huh?
As for Leinart, He is overrated. His arm strenght and accuracy is questionable
And Young, you dont know if he can take the ball from under the center since everyplay was in the spread. So where does he fit in a conventional offence? Thats a gamble their.
Bush is excellent i will say. But he might not be able to be a back that gets the ball 25+ times a game like Williams can and has shown. Bush is like Prothro from Alabama.. if he didn't break his leg i think they could have went undefeted
the draft is
#1 Texans-Reggie Bush
#2 Saints- i dont know but not a qb now that they have Brees
#3 Titans- Cutler, they liked his pro day and he played for Vanderbilt in Tennesse so it wouldn't be much of a change.

Anbody want to say who they think will blow up this season?
Alex Smith-49ers
Rex Grossman-Bears
Omar Jacobs-BG
Matt Leinart-USC
Vince Young-UT
Jay Cutler-Vandy
David Carr-Texans( with Bush at his side lol)
Drew Brees-Saints
Culpepper-Dolphins
And will Peyton Ever make it to the Super Bowl!!

No way the Titans take Cutler, they would go Leinart all the way. Chow is their damn O-coordinator. Leinart would come in knowing more of the offense than McNair. Don't take this as saying Leinart would play, but I don't think the Titans would pass up Leinart.
Bush can take the ball 25+ a game. He just probably doesn't need to. Who needs the ball so much when you average nearly 9 yards a carry? He had fricken 33 carries for over 20 yards!

Blow up good is Grossman. Gotta go with him ;).
Blow up bad is Jacobs, I really don't know why he is on this list. He won't make any starts. I also could put Leinart, Cutler, and Young on this list because they SHOULDN'T make any starts, though they will get some series in.

The 3 main reasons Bush was so effective is
#1: He is in an offense with several stars
#2: USC's offensive line was the biggest in all of the NCAA
#3: USC's "dominitive" schedule LOL. They played weak teams. Look at Bush's stats in the game when they did play a good team, Texas, he only had 82 yards rushing.
Now we will see when he plays teams with all grade-A players like himself. Especially when he plays on the worst team.

82 yards, yeah and I'm impressed by 82 yards. You know why, because he only had 13 carries. He had over a 6 YPC avg. That is nasty because Texas had a very good defense. Plus the Pac-10 is no slouch conference. They went 26-10 against non-conference foes and finished with 4 teams in the top 25.
USC did not play weak teams, obviously their conference was good, and they had to go to Notre Dame to play. And had to play at Oregon. That is no slouch of a schedule.

They should have lost against Notre Dame also, I think USC should have been the #3 team.
#1 Texas
#2 Ohio State
#3 USC

College football, any given game anyone can win. The same with college basketball, ask Duke...
