I cycled 20 mg of m1t and 12 mg of mohn xt for two weeks. I began to use the milk thistle on the last day of my cycle. After the second day of milk thistle I began having a small pain when I urinate. The pain is in my urethra. I have not had any sides from my cycle, could the milk thistle be doing this? I am using 250 mg of milk thistle seed three time a day.

i have a feeling it is prbably more from the ph's than the milk thistle, it just might have taken a little while for it to affect you, or once you stopped taking them your body had this reaction, but i really dont know, sorry

I have a feeling it is from NEITHER!
Skip...can I ask how much protein you ingest in a day (and please include carb and fat tallies as well). I think what youdescribe is actually common but want to make sure. Was it an isolated incident?

I was trying to keep my protein intake at about 300 grams a day. I weighed 250 when i started and went up 10-12 pounds. I do not know how much fat I was eating. Prior to when i started the cycle I was keeping my diet clean and eating chicken sandwiches and egg whites. I felt great while on and slipped up some but the true amount I can not say.

It was not an isolated incident. The first time was a day after I started Milk thistle and stoped ph. I think the first day was bad but maybe because i am looking for sides. It was better yesterda. Now it feels more like an irritation.
thanks for your help.

Again,
provided the incident was in fact isolated (did not happen any more than the one time), I would likely rule out a UTI.
protein intake that exceeds 1g/lb bodyweight has been known to cause mild discomfort on occasion (not saying this is anything that should cause alarm nor should it warrant you to alter your intake) due to amino acid metabolism and it is likely to be localized in the urethra which is an alkaline environment.
monitor it and see if it continues to cause you pain. If you would feel more comfortable having reassurance, ask your doctor to check your CBC and do a urinalysis. Any elevation in WBC in either could offer a clearer rationale if it is attributed to anything else.
hope this helps.

Huh, I must have posted when you did and didn't see your second post.
When you say it now is "better," does that mean you do not feel the pain anymore? Is there anything that makes it feel better when it becomes irritated (meaning anything that you explicitly do to alleviate the irritation)? Is it constant or solely attributed to urine flow?

Animal studies have not shown any sides for Milk Thistle even at high doses and M1T undergoes biliary elimination for the most part.
I am curious if you are taking anything else (supps and/or meds)?

it is only when I urinate. I am taking 10 grams of glut but nothing else.

i have done nothing but started to drink more water. I think i was drinking about 8 glasses of water and have upped it to about a gallon.

Give it a week - you will adjust. The water note makes my initial thoughts sound appropriate. Give it one week and see if it continues to give you pain...It does sound, however, like it is subsiding.
With your history, it sounds promising.

Dinoii seems to be doing a good job here, but I wanted to add in that my personal feeling is that if you have a high protein intake, you should consume at least a gallon of water per day, and if you take ph's, then you should up it even higher. Just my opinion.

Yes, I agree with these guys but there will be some "growing pains" along with that. Don't decrease water to make pain subside, you will adapt.

Well again, with reserve...you know my thoughts now based on the diet section of the forum. There is a "too much" to everything.
