Ok guys I have been out of working out for about 9 years. I used to be 210 at 5 foot 10 now and rock hard I am about 240 and carrying most of the extra on my gut and just started hitting the gym again. First goal was to get in enough shape so I could work out and get into shape. Focused heavy on cardio and some high rep lifting and hammer strength machines.

After two weeks I am surprised at the results thus far, I am already up to 30 minutes of cardio on the stair climber or elipse at a pretty high intensity level. Doing pretty good lift reps and keeping the pace high on lifting so I keep the heart rate up.

I hate cardio back in the day I never worried about any fat gain and struggled to gain every ounce. Got a good job and a desk with it, got married and got out of the habit. Now I got a big gut and a long road ahead.

So I was wondering with regaining strength, cutting fat and just improving fitness being the main goal what supplements you guys would recommend.

Getting back in the game is tough but I am SO glad I did it, I already feel so much better. So any suggestions?

I'd say:

Immediately:
Multivitamin (Optimum Nutrition Optimen is okay)
Fish oil (GNC/vitamin world sells bulk, I'd take 5-7g a day)
Protein (Dymatize Elite 5lb)
Thermogenic (PharmagenX Ventilean or Thermolife Injectofuel)

after you finish with the thermo:
Continue Multi, FIsh oil, protein intake, add:
Creatine (SNS CVM extreme)

Thanks wedgylx,

I noticed both of the Thermogenics are ephedra free. I used to take supplements with ephedra (before the ban) and never had an adverse reaction. Now the ban is lifted and you can get ephedra products again.

That said is there a Thermogenic with ephedra you would recommend?

Or would it make sense to stack ephedra with either PharmagenX Ventilean or Thermolife Injectofuel.

Everything I have ever read on Thermogenics indicates that an ECA or ECAG (g for green tea) is more effective then any with out ephedra.

Just again wondering would it be ok to stack ephedra with either PharmagenX Ventilean or Thermolife Injectofuel.

It would be fine, just start with half the dosage to assess your tolerance.

i think its new.

You could stack them, or you could grab some ephedrine HCl, Prolab Caffeine, and some green tea extract and use that instead.

Thanks wedgylx!

Just ordered PharmagenX Ventilean and Dymatize Elite from the site. Was already on a good multi and fish oil. I am going to add a half dose of ephedra when I take the thermo and see how that goes.

Getting back in the game was the best thing I have ever done. Two weeks ago I was sitting at 242 now I am already at 238 which is not huge but my diet is the same only difference is the activity level.

I did 45 minutes of sustained cardio last night, then assisted pull ups till I could not do one more, heavy rowing at a quick pace, followed by some dumbell work (kept the pace up there too).

Two weeks ago I struggled to do a bit of lifting and 15 minutes on the climber or elipse. Those of you (specially the youngens) that are in shape now NEVER LET IT GO. Maintance is easy getting back what you had is tough.

I am a former Army Airborne and Air Assult Solider. I was once the picture of shape if I can get caught in a desk and put on 40 pounds so can anyone. Hold on to what you have getting it back is a long ass road,

Thanks again for the advice,

Jack
