View Full Version : Is DHEA worthless?

Doctors at Washington University School of Medicine, in St. Louis, found that taking 50 mg of DHEA/day x 6 mos. helped 28 people ages 65-78 cut their abdominal fat by 2 square inches and lose almost 2 pounds. Members of a control group ADDED almost half a square inch and gained nearly 1.5 pounds.
Note: these were not weight-trained individuals so its application for us is currently questionable. But, if you could do that simply by adding the cpd. at a time when levels decrease perhaps, it is a way to stop adding pounds with aging.

I am not a big fan of regular DHEA, but I think that 7-OXO-DHEA can be effective if the dosages used are high enough.
That said, now time for some shameless self promotion:
We are going to bringing an item to market that is a huge step up from any of the DHEA's that I mentioned above. I will provide the appropriate write ups and details as the time nears. Probably about 3 to 4 weeks from now.

what is the main difference between dhea and cla?

There is nothing in common between DHEA and CLA. CLA is a fatty acid that is used by many for weight loss. You may be thinking of DHA which is another fatty acid that some use for fat loss as well.
DHEA is a completely different compound. DHEA is more of a hormonal type of product.
Sorry for the quick reply but was walking out the door. I can elaborate more later if someone else does not adequaltely explain what DHEA is.

I anxiously await your thoughts here. 3-4 weeks huh? I think there is nothing shameless about drawing up interest for your product. Sounds like a winning method Steve.
yeah, I like the cpd. you mentioned before better than plain ole DHEA as well (however, interestingly the pathways arent interrelated), however the study was performed with REGULAR PLAIN OLE DHEA.
I have a question to ask you as well, Steve - I'll pass it via email.

Max - I am not a big believer in regular DHEA supplementation when it pertains to increasing workout capability. That is why I anxiously await the release of our new item. It is going to create a category all to itself in terms of what it can do for a user. It is a very versatile compound and can be used for cutting or bulking. I don't hype many things up, but this is one that I am literally ansy to hurry up and get in so I can use it myself.

We really do have a lot of new products coming out, but I have to say that this one is one of the ones that I am personally the most excited about because of the variety of uses that it will have.
Our attitude towards coming out with new products is that in addition to trying to be innovative and creative, we listen to consumers. You want something from us, tell us. I am very impressed with how loyal many consumers are becoming to our line, and we feel that we must be loyal in return to them by giving them the top quality products that they want at prices they can afford.

thanks a lot, just gonna stick to the directions to start out with, 4 before work out and 4 when i wake up, unfortunately this morning i forgot, so i will take 4 before i go to sleep, or 8 hours after my first serving
for before work out should i take them before my pre work out shake, or along with it, i think i asked this before, but couldnt find the thread i asked it in

I think it would be best to space it out away from your pre workout shake by 30 to 35 minutes or so. I think you will do well either way though.

now im a little confused, i thought you were suppose to take it pre work out?
i was wondering if i should take it with my pre work out shake, or before/after my pre work out shake?
maybe something along these lines
e2 matrix 45-hour before work out
pre work out shake 30-45 min before work out
or e2 matrix + pre work out shake 30-hour before work out

January 17th, 2005, 02:41 PM

thanks for doing the log my wife thinks that i am nuts for all the research that i am doing with cataloging the posts on here but when it comes to spending money theres no better way to tell how something works then in the real world by people who spend there hard earned money. Any body can hire actors to promote products but the truth comes from right here thanks

DHEA supplementation claims to boost immunity, improve memory, boost muscle mass and sex drive (Webb).
In Webb's article, it states "Research, however, doesn't back this up, says Frank Bellino, PhD, deputy
associate director of the Biology of Aging Program at the National
Institute on Aging in Bethesda, MD. "DHEA does amazing things in
rodents, but we haven't seen the same results in people." In women, DHEA
supplements could cause acne and growth of facial hair. And there may be
unknown long-term side effects, including increased cancer risks. The
National Institute on Aging recommends against taking DHEA supplements".

You're quoting from "prevention" magazine?
Wow - the reports are what I call sensationalism! Acne - perhaps, but this is misconstruing adrenal hormones to a LARGE degree. They do not exactly perform the same way as gonadal hormones, per se. AHHHHH terrible science alert!!!
