I just ordered the new Anabolics 2006 today and was wondering if anyone else had already bought it or checked it out. I was just wanted to know some people's opinoin on the book as far as it's ability to educate. Thanks.

No, but I was planning on getting it. I'd like to know other's opinions too.

I love William Llewelyn! Now - this is not a sarcastic comment. He and I for frequenters of the forum have certainly had some disagreements. I'd like to follow quickly with the fact that it is no different from varying opinions in other areas.
One thing I cannot deny is that he certainly has educated me on quite a few things - but it is probably a good idea to not take everything at face value from one author -- YUP YUP -- I include myself in that realm. Always expand upon what you learn. The Anabolics series has essentially become a staple in my collection (I would value the book collection I have at well over $500,000 minimally) and I look forward to this piece as I have those prior.
I think anyone who opts for this purchase is making a very valuable choice and would be happy with what they take if into chemical changes or even have patients interested, yourself are remotely interested, or you are part of the industry as a whole. Anabolics educates. Anabolics offers pictorial reference. Anabolics IS Molecular Nutrition. Anabolics IS William Llewelyn.
If you have not cued in - I am saying the book is an essential must-have!

quick question
im always looking to expand my knowledge and book collection for that matter
the anabolics book?
is this just a listings of steroids and pictures of them containing names?
or does this book have a solid medical run down (as solid as you could get in one book lol) containing products, effects and even pct or cause and effect related sections?

"medical" as defined would likely need to be elaborated on. But the topics you describe in your post are talked about with each drug (i.e. - sides, etc...). And there is PCT info, etc...

what id like to know is if the book has stuff on SD, anabolic xtreme products and other prohormones out at the moment such as ALRI stuff.
ALRI released some products and then ran away and now give no info.;
im stuck with 2 max lmgs i need info on! same as gonadrol and its suposedly progestin like. i wont use it until i know everything about it. ive read a load of reviews but they arent detailed enough.

I am curious - does one just buy something before they figure out how and why they are using it?
What governs this mentality?
Should you blame ALRI (of course, if they forcedly "MADE" you buy their product - perhaps so)?
Well, then, perhaps you could for now be more insightful to where you knowledge is lagging on this compound?

I just recieved my Anabolics 2006 book and I have just barely started looking into it. It seems to be pretty informative though. I will look to see if there is stuff on what UltimateFighter was talking about, but unfortunately I left it at my house so I will have to get back to that.

I have Anabolics 2005 (have yet to get 06), and it is definitely THE book on illicit bodybuilding chemicals. I don't use steroids but have found the book to be very interesting and applicable even to the "natural" lifter.
A word to the wise: the book is PACKED with info. And what I mean is, it is basically a text book that one would expect to find in a high level college class about steroids and their bodybuilding applications (if one existed). So, prepare yourself for some heavy duty reading.

Wellsy, I just got 2006 in the mail...
...and it is straight up incredible. I've been sitting here reading all the new stuff instead of doing my anthropology homework. What a great textbook. It's got a few new intoduction sections (The Science of Progress, The Endrocrinology of Muscle Growth) that were very interesting. I could actually recommend this book to people who don't use gear. It just sorta scratches that itch of curiosity. Especially interesting were the sections on proper PCT, Superdrol, Prostanozol, and Madol. The expanded info on Arachidonic Acid was nice too considering I'm an AA freak. The info on injectable L-carnosine was a first for me and made me reconsider buying some Body Octane ;).
The first thing I noticed about the book was how much thicker it was. It must be at least an extra 1/4 inch. Hard to believe that much more info could be added to an already exhaustive book. In any case, someone here should check it out. Some of the new additions to the 2006 version are:
--boldenone acetate
--dimethyltrienolone
--7-methylnortestosterone
--normethandrolone
--Isotretinoin (accutane)
--ATD (the ever famous)
--cabergoline
--mecasermin rinfibate
And as usual it's got lots of pretty pictures.
Okay guys, I hope that wasn't too much of a commercial. I was just suddenly inspired to bring it up and rant about these interesting things.
Perhaps one of you already has a copy of it? What do you think?

Yeah, it has all that. Believe me, even I was surprised by the content in 2006. It's like taking all the importance of text-book technicalities, making them understandable, then applying it all to the real-world.

I really think it is a great resource. I found the book to be helpful and very engaging. It also was a interesting section on the physiology of muscle building.
I didn't see the sections on Superdrol or Prostan though, I have just been browsing through the book though, where were they?
