Hey guys i am jsut curious.

I am going to be competeing in powerlifting exactly 3 weeks from today.

I right now weigh in at 188.4 and that will put me in a higher weight class that goes to 198lbs.

I am woundering if there is a possible way to loose about 8lbs (just to be sure) to drop down to the next lower weight class but yet still keep my strength? i guess i will just cut down the cals for these next couple weeks? Or is there a little "trick" if you will to do a couple days be4 that to mabye get the 8lbs? i KNow thats alot of weight but i am just woundering how much is actual water? i was thinking of not really drinking much the day be4 and then weigh in and drink after that? I know its not the smartest thing to do but i really wont have a choice right?

What do you guys think?

well, I don't think its healthy, but there is water pills and colon cleansing stuff out there. A couple of models have come into GNC requesting these kind of things. They said it was for a "shoot".

I'm afraid that a duretic would never drop more than 2 lbs. and KILL you're strength especially after 3 wks. I would low cal, but more than that low carb it right up until a week or so before then sorta carb load to replentish your glycogen reserves. I's kill my sodium intake so you don't retain unnecessary water, and I'd add a fat burner into the mix, and hope I make it.

You want to get into the 181? That's the weight class that I was in. You may want to research your competition usually the 198 is a little easier. Anyway... I would just recommend a diet. Nothing terrible, just cut carbs out a little earlier and drink 2 gallons of water a day. You should be down to where you want to be. DO NOT USE A DIURETIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That would dry your joints out and could induce an injury. What are your totals like?
