Yes, it works. I don't know how to use it, but my wife bought one. She cooks with it often. There is a little bit of a learning curve, as the food is really juicy compared to a conventional oven or a microwave. Sometime on her first run of various foods in it, the juiciness can be a bit much.
If you are looking in to the TV ad. It is shown with some sort of optional extension, that she didn't buy. You will need it if you want to cook large items. She bought hers in the most basic form, so I can't tell you what options are worth while. With out having first hand experience I the SS option might be nice, as the exteriors of her's is white plastic, not a cheap looking or feel, but diffidently not a commercial / industrial feel. (This is not your mothers Kitchen Aid.) I think it saves us on power for cooking, but mostly cooling the home (AC). She likes that it keeps the food moist, contains food odors, doesn't use oil, drains fat from food, and doesn't take long to use.
BTW she uses the NuWave PRO Infrared Oven by Healthware Home Products
