Ladies and gentlemen.....

In the red corner weighing in at 3100mg, Universals NOX3, triple action formula...featuring 3000mg of Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate and Arginine Ketoisocaproate and 100mg of NO booster Ornithine Alpha-Ketoglutarate.... 30 days supply for $26 approx street price.

In the blue corner at 3000mg, Twinlabs Nitrate3 Fuel shot. Featuring 3000mg of Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate. Fruit blast flavour. 30 days supply at $34 street price.

Both products are near identical in label form... but thats where it ends. Universals product is taken in the form of 3 huge tablets, Twinlabs is in liquid form. Taken with 1 level tablespoon. Twinlabs taste resembles that of sweet cough medicine, it actually tastes fine. Just have a quick swish of water after you have consumed it to get the medicine taste out of your mouth.

I have alternated between products every other workout for 6 workouts now. I will admit that for whatever reason, Twin Lab as a brand/products have not been in my radar, who knows why?? I was walking past the stand at the Mr O, and I saw they were offering bottles of this for silly prices, so I grabbed a few and thought, well we will see what happens.....

Wow, I was very surprised to say the least. So much so, that I decided to review this here. I had been using NOX3 for months now, and have always attained a decent pump, but in comparison to Twinlabs product...well there is no comparison. Has anyone ever used NO prior to a workout.. you know the 'special' workout that comes along once in a while, where energy, recovery and pump are just 'spectacular' well, that has been attained each time I have used Twinlabs Nitrate3 shot. Maybe their is greater assimilation in liquid form? I don't know, but the product bears fruit. Period.

Product Performance - Universal 6/10 - Twinlab 9/10

Product taste/consumption - Universal 3/10 - Twinlab 9/10

Value for money - Universal 7/10 - Twinlab 7/10

Overall pump - Universal 6/10 - Twinlab 8/10

Recovery factor post NO - Universal 8/10 - Twinlab 8/10

Workout Endurance factor - Universal 7/10 - Twinlab 8/10

Overall - Universal 37/60 - Twinlab 49/60

A clear winner in my book. In fairness to Universal, they do offer a 100% money back guarantee, which Twinlab don't-but they needn't based on the quality of their product. A big difference was noted in taste. I don't mind taking capsules/tablets, I take up to 50 a day, but the monsters that Universal make for NOX3 are like small easter eggs, which makes the whole task unpleasant. Compare that with the fruit blast tatste of Twinlab, and it does make a difference. At the end of the day though, I felt more pumped and had greater recovery using Twinlab.

I always try and minimise my biase in a review, and I was biased AGAINST Twinlab prior to using this product...but kudo's to them, they made a great product that delivers..... Twinlab will be a brand that I investigate more thoroughly in other areas as a result of the excellant product they have made here.

I was going to try to buy some of the twinlab product based on your review, but DA doesn't carry that twinlab product. In fact they only carry two twinlab produccts which I found strange considering the wide variety of products twinlabs makes.

Somebody tell Chris to stock it!

Thanks guys. Glad you liked the review. My bad! I didn't realise Chris didn't stock this...I realise that he does have an account with TwinLab...perhaps it is a brand new product and he is just waiting to get some in??
