I live close to the border of Mexico, in Texas. I'm mexican/american and love eating flour tortillas, fried rice, and etc. is it bad for me to cheat in the long run ever so often. I cheat about once every 2 days.

Maybe you can try substituting the flour tortillas for wheat ones and the fried rice for brown rice. How are you asking if its bad for you, your health?Or workout goals?

I make brown rice with chicken or ground beef and add a can of enchilada sauce to it when I want Mexican. It works really well bro and doesn't wreck the diet. Just a little extra sodium that day is all. ;)

yeah you are right i have to balance it out through out my day. Which I think I have been doing well. Usually i blow up 5lbs. the next day, but 2 days later im back to my original weight. All I have to be careful of is mostly the sodium and fat intake of course the quantity is always an issue in any meal.

I'ts just so hard to be strick when I go visit my mom and have a good'ol home cooked meal freshly made. Thanks guys for giving me some peace of mind and making me reflect.

Good advice. If you watch what kind of oil you're cooking the rice in and using on the tortillas then I wouldn't consider that a cheat at all.

That sounds like its just water retention from sodium. Send you mom over to my place, I'de like some nice mexican. Just tell her not to use so much salt.

Like others said a lot of Mexican food can be healthy if made right. Low fat meats, whole grain tortillas, unfried brown rice, fresh veggies, etc.
