How much casein protein is ideal to take before bed to slow catabolism?

ur taking in 150g of protien from whey and then addition from casein? I really think you should back off on the shakes some and get some REAL food in you man. Shakes are a supplement, for the use of supplementing your normal diet, not to be the basis of it.

alright. I guess thats true, I will find myself not even eating meals because im so stuffed from the shakes, probably because its a pretty dense shake. Ill worry more about eating better than supplementing myself to death. I just figured that protein was protein, my mistake. I just wondered about casein so i could eat something that has it or have a small shake just before i went to bed.

I actually just make a protein shake with skim milk (instead of water) before bed. The extra umpf from the milk helps me stay asleep and not wake up hungry.

i personally like to go with cottage cheese b4 bed, its slow digesting protien. Hint: if you don't like cottage cheese by itself ( i hate it) then mis it with a tbsp or 2 of natty pb, cinnamon and splenda. It tasttes like a delicious desert! :)

At your size I think I would go with maybe 30g. If you are highly susceptible to catabolism you might want to go higher. Mixing it with milk or just using cottage cheese are good ideas too. On the other topic, dropping your whey intake is a good idea. instead help yourself to some chicken!:)

Agreed! You're making me hungry.
