I'm looking to build muscle mass while cutting fat, is it even possible? If so, what would be a general guide as far a diet? I'm doing cardio 3x a week (17min HIIT, treadmill)
More carbs early, more fats in the evening? I'm really lost when it comes to this stuff. Don't know how many carbs/fat ration I should consume. I just go by 'eye'.
If this helps, I'm 215lbs, 6'0 (don't know body fat, but I'm on the lean side, just got some stubborn belly fat/love handles that won't seem to go away!)

its possible but hard to do unless your body is new to training of any sort. theres also drugs that help with that goal if your wanting something that serious. id suggest sticking with a clean diet, not much lower than maintenance cals. cutting out some carbs is usually the first step to getting ride of a few pounds. also cleaning up your food sources can do the trick. eat foods like grilled chicken, turkey, talapia, tuna. carbs: oatmeal, grits, veggies, some wheat bread.

yeah im in your same position my friend, im 6'0 232lbs im not lean by any means but im also not a fat slob. im not sure on my BF% as well but one thing i can say i do like my size. i do have lower ab fat as well and trying to get rid of it is a bitch. so therefore i gotta step up my cardio, first decision that i made. and cut some carbs down, well checking out big fox pete (sorry for messing your name up) diet seems like to look like 400g's of protein 150g's of carbs, and 60-80g's of fat. he's about 198lbs i think but dude is solid so i guess it's kind of a outline to follow

Hey bros, look into some sort of ketogenic diet, like a CKD (Cyclical Ketogenic Diet) transfered into a TKD (Targeted Ketogenic Diet). Getting your body into an anabolic state will get rid of your fat and will also build new muscle.

i used the CKD program last few weeks before a contest and i did notice it worked very well for preserving muscle while cutting and doing light cardio. it really comes down to how dedicated you are at diet
