I was wondering what all some of you use to get in extra calories. Unfortunately I'm mildly lactose intolerant so drinking a bunch of milk isn't an option. I also have some concerns about ingesting large amounts of simple carbohydrates (I don't have diabetes, and I'm trying to keep it that way) so lots of juice, things like that aren't a favorite of mine either. I do add alot of oil to things, low saturated fats only, but really that's about it. Anything else you guys do?

That option has already been maxed out. I'm a hard gainer and I'm at about 8000 calories a day as is. There is no way I could get in another meal.

How much fat are you trying to gain?

Peanut butter is good. Also try adding extra virgin olive oil in your shakes.

How much fat are you trying to gain?

Yeah, that doesn't happen. I think the highest my BF has been is around 10%. I'm a very hard gainer to say the least. On the plus side I'll never have to do a cutting cycle. Yes, I use peanut better, and I usually use safflower, sunflower, or grape seed oil. Olive oil is higher in saturated fat.

8000 kcal a day @ 10% fat and you have trouble gaining? How much do you weight? Do you run around all day?

That's insane! I wish I could eat that much.

The short answer is I have a high metabolism, but its sort of complicated. I was about 170lbs, but a few weeks ago the flu tore me a new one and I'm not sure how much I lost. I just started working out again and I've had to limit it to about 20 minutes before I get out of breath.

haha.... a hard gainer just like me.... talk about.... I FEEL YOU.... heeh.... wells.... anyways.... if you are like me.... & you do stick to your diet strickly & that your caloric intake does not flutuate much then we have the same prob.... hehe.... & if so.... then that would mean that your weight doesn't really change either even if you cut down on the calories.... ie.... whether it be 8000 or just plain 2000 a day for months on.... you neither really lose nor gain weight.... is that you too???? okay.... well i can't give you much advise on how to gain weight.... especially if you are similar to me.... all i can say is that somehow when i started experimenting with PH.... i think something in my body changed.... (metabolic wise) .... & i have gained more weight in the past 4 years than i have basically all my life.... i'm suspecting the hormone changes triggered something.... although i do still have a pretty hard time gaining even to this time.... thus....

you say your pretty much lactose intolerant.... & so am i.... so a slight solution.... consume anti-diarrheal medications prior to consuming lactose products.... & i also found that if i do eat quite a bit of solid foods prior to drinking something lactose.... the problem isn't that bad or it doesnt even show at all....

lastly.... here.... a supplement that has plenty of calories & quite a whole lot more into it.... only thing is.... it's pretty expensive.... but if you can afford it.... then it is pretty much calorie dense as well as nutrition dense.... & packed in 8oz.... so spread it out through the day.... "TwoCal HN by Ross" .... that's what i supplement with along with other things.... so yeah.... heeh.... use to go through like 10 of these things every day.... look it up.... & you'll see what i mean....

& if people are gonna SAY.... WHUUUUT.... & YOU DIDN'T GAIN.... yes folks.... i didn't.... so please do refrain from making such a fuss.... as i think i've heard pleanty of that already.... so yeah....

but NEON.... i will say this though.... it might just be a waste if you are packing a whole lotta calories & not getting anywhere.... may need to look elsewhere for an answer.... & not just increasing your caloric intake.... as i have found it pretty wasteful just consuming & consuming & nothing happens.... & yeah.... not even FAT.... quite dissappointing.... so now i just maintain an approx 4000 kcal.... although it still feels like a waste to me at this point.... but at least its not as wasteful as i used to be.... & ooooh yeah.... another thing.... if you do start supplementing with that 2Cal & at 10 cans a day.... make sure drink plenty of H2O.... as it will be hard on your kidneys IMO.... so yeah.... just be cautious with anything you supplement with.... ;)

I'm not completely lactose intolerant, its just that it wouldn't go over well if I drank a gallon a day... or anywhere close to that. I do gain at high calorie levels, just slowly. Uping the amount I get in does help thus why I'm looking for more. Taking a PH/ASS can upregulate your ARs if it is done properly, if not the opposite will happen. That might be why you've seen better gains between your cycles. This effect isn't permanent and will go away over time.

Dude Let's swap a couple pints of blood and it is done! Actually I don't know what you could do at 8k calories a day!!!! What do you do to SLOW metabolism? Eat once every day before you go to bed? I've never heard of someone that has it as abd as you. Beer, wings, chinese food, mexican food?:o

I wish I knew how to slow it down. Maybe valium? This is sad and I probably shouldn't admit it, but I've never been able to drink beer or wine. I don't know why, but it taste absolutely awful to me. Yet I can drink anything high proof no problem. Hell, I ate Moroccan food in Morocco, but I can't do beer. (For those of you unfamiliar with Morocco, there is no refridgeration and everything is sold in the desert heat in open air markets with flies everywhere. You can buy a goat's head, a skinned cat, and a brick of hash all at the same table. If you are squeemish I wouldn't suggest getting stuck with a three day layover there.)
