Anabolic Diet
The dietary plan in the Anabolic Diet consists of:
Monday to Friday: High Protein / High Fat/ Low Carb
Saturday & Sunday: Carb Loading
The protein of choice is fatty, red meat. Fatty red meat is high in cholesterol and saturated fat which increases your testosterone levels. The absence of carbs for 5 consecutive days forces your body to use fat for energy. You should eat green leafy plant foods with every meal for digestion. Two tablespoons Flax Seeds a day will help.
This setup naturally increases the production of the muscle building hormones:
Testosterone
Growth Hormone
Insulin
Let’s see how the Anabolic Diet does this.
Testosterone. Testosterone is a natural muscle building steroid and key to health & well-being. Benefits of high testosterone levels include:
Increased muscle mass
Increased strength
More energy
Enhanced libido
The Anabolic Diet has high intakes of:
Cholesterol; and
Dietary fat
Both are responsible for the increase of your testosterone levels.
Growth Hormone. Another natural muscle building steroid in your body. Growth Hormone:
Increases muscle mass
Promotes fat breakdown
Forces your body to use fat for energy
Helps fighting Stress
Some factors stimulating Growth Hormone secretion:
Dietary Protein
Low levels of blood sugar
Stress
The Anabolic Diet includes all three of them:
High amounts of protein intake
No carb consumption for 5 days
Extreme carb up in the weekend, which your body perceives as stress
Leading to increased Growth Hormone release.
Insulin. Insulin is tricky. It has both positive & negative effects.
Positive: stimulates muscle growth
Negative: responsible for laying on fat
The Anabolic Diet controls insulin
Weekdays: insulin goes down, low blood sugar
Weekend: insulin goes up, extreme insuline peak
Both result in increased Growth Hormone secretion: more muscles, less fat.
Stop believing in fat myths. You need fat, especially on the Anabolic Diet. Not eating enough fat leads to
Muscle breakdown
Fat storage
Low energy
Don’t be afraid of fat, eat it. Eat fat to lose fat!
