seems like vegetables are one of the best ways to get carbs. i fkn hate vegies but i mostly just gobble them down quickly. how do you all eat your vegies how do you cook them. i have a juicer that i have been using so far. add some lemon and one fruit and it takes the bad taste away from the green stuff.

If ketchup helps its not that bad.....its better than butter at least!
I dont have that problem really because I love the taste of vegetables, or anything else for that matter haha

First and foremost,
Carrots of all kinds are NOT the ideal bodybuilding food for all body types. They are one of the very starchy vegetables some people have trouble with. I would recommend that you assess how time periods with and without their use affect your physique goals ...madness!
Other popular Starchy veggies some people need to avoid like a post-cycle estrogen excess junkie include: potatoes (sweet potatoes being the exception) and corn!!!!
Anything from the "green" class are acceptable for all body types.
Remember when posting that as something that works for you has done your body ok in your opinion...make certain not to preach that for all body types. And for those that do deem starchy veggies ok for them - are you content when you look in the mirror naked? If not, maybe its their inclusion... Sound like too much micro-management...yeah I thought so too.

damn, that was disappointing to here. i love corn, especially grilled corn on the cob. if you can try grilling your veggies, i love it, grilled asparagas is awesome. if you want to try smaller veggies-sugar snap peas, snow peas, green beans, and things of that sort try making a little pouch out of tin/aluminum foil cut up some slices of lemon, throw the veggies and lemon in the pouch, seal it up and throw it on the grill. its delicious

what are you talking about people are simply talking about what veggies they like and do not like. and just like every thing what works for you will not always work for me thats why we experiment and why we are on here

I whole heartedly agree with you max and am not sure I worded my post correctly if that's how it was interpreted. I apologize that being the case.
I hopefully for the record simply wanted to say be careful with eating a heaping load of veggies in general b/c
#1. Not all veggies are created equal
- and -
#2. Not all bodies respond identically to their metabolism
On the other hand, there are things like celery, cucumbers and lettuce that pretty much don't count and are almost "freebies!"
Hopefully this was more clear.

i know all veggies are pretty good for you, but as was posted before corn and potatoes should be eaten a little less often than other veggies
what are the veggies you need to be more careful with in addition to corn, potatoes
and what would you say are the ideal veggies for bodybuilding
and (lol) same question for fruits, i love fruits, really help get the sweet tooth satisfied, strawberries, apples, but how good are these in terms of b.b.

Certain foods are negative calorie. By negative calorie, it means that your body uses more energy to digest these foods than what is actually in them. So eating these foods is a great way to lose some weight. I searched around and found this list. I hope it helps

I'm gonna have to call for a reference Wedg
Sounds like a vegetrian site or something. The foods you listed by far are NOT freebies! Not all of em. The reasons I listed the few vetables I did in the way I did as "freebies" is BECAUSE THEY SATISFIED 2 REQUIREMENTS:
(1) They may be consumed in excess quantities and it is likely due to water content you are likely only able to ingest so much - they will fill you up with NEXT TO NEGLIGIBLE caloric expediture requirement.
(2) Any calories are attributed to FIBER and therefore MUST have little concurrent effect on blood sugar.
__________________________________________________ __________
So we are clear, my 2 discrepencies with the list you provided:
I do Not agree with Carrots requiring more energy to burn.
AND
Anything listed on the fruit list is an inaccuracy for the following reason. By the time they are digested (i.e.- thermogenic effect of food takes place because you used that in your example, etc....), the insulin surge in response to the blood-sugar fluctuation has already occured. Granted, your serum levels could have very well retreated to baseline, but not before anything in excess is already sent to the fat depot. At this point caloric expenditure as far as calories means NOTHING. You cannot deplete adipose cells, simply srink em.

Fruits that are "almost" negligible:
Apples
Berries (blueberries = the best option)
Pears
-sorry that is it!!!
I would never agree with citrus, summer fruit or melon to be included on a negligible list.
The veggies to be more careful are those that are more starchy!

man i havnt had any email confirmation that this thread had been responded to so i havnt been back but theres been a lot of good input. thanks everyone. sadly i always thought of fruits as being great food, just as great as vegies for you but from what ive been reading on the net fruits even tho they are natural have a lot of sugar. some more than others. i dont take sugar very well i start to get shaky. so i havnt eaten any fruit in the last few weeks. some fruits ive heard are good because they have a lot of seeds like strawberries and celery. seeds are hard to digest and take up a lot of calories to digest. but now im convinced green vegies are the best way to get carbs. ive been losing weight eating high protein very low carb diet. any carbs i eat have good fiber. like grape nuts which taste horrible unless you add bananas. when i first started eating gn i thought this is great for my cholesterol but what i was doing was eating a ton of it and then i was gaining weight and confused hehe. but the fact is 1/2 cup of grape nuts has 40 grams of carbs. almost no fat tho. i have a juicer at home that i use to eat vegies that i hate the way they taste. italian gave some good advise on how to cook them. im a very bad cook. ill try it tho. in the juicer it looks horrible all green but add some lemon and that kind of takes away the bad taste and it isnt all that bad. steaming vegies is another thing ive thought of we have one of those but havnt used it in i dont know how long. steamings the best way to cook as far as the cooking taking the least amount of vitamines and good stuff out. microwave is the worst ive heard. ive had a friken cold cough for about a week and a half and so i havnt been working out too much but i ordered ae2 necter protein and isobolic protein from discount anabolics. waiting for the shippment.
thanks to everyone who has responded with help. thats what forums are all about but some are just filled with memebers that want their questions answered and then theyre out of here.

Would be more convincing if they weren't trying to sell their e-book. Not exactly the convincing I was looking for.

Out of the 25 boards or so I have posted on in my time, I had never heard of hardcoreliving.com ---> amazing how many sites are out there huh? I do not have time to frequent them all anymore. I choose to park myself here.
My questions of believability also would center around if it was just a post as well or it was someone's link to another page that was posted?

I still question where the poster gets off saying it costs more calories to burn them than they have in them...I disagree.
Sounds like this is pyramided info.
