Hey guys, well here's the story leading to the question. I stopped working out for about 3 months and became a fat ass for the first time in my life ;'(. Well I recently started working out again 3 weeks ago and just started my CKD this past saturday, my question is would it better to carb up this upcomming saturday which will make it 7 full days or should I wait until next Saturday which will make it 14 days? My calories are about 100-200 below maintenance and I feel good as of now, although day 1 and 2 were hell as usual, but of course I am lookin forward to my carb up, I'm gettin somewhat flat, but I'm not concerned about that and I have lost 5 lbs already, although I know its prolly mostly water. I started at 225 lbs and am down to 220 now. Appreciate any help I can get, thanx.

when starting a CKD most find it better to wait for the second weekend before carbing up. usually the first 7 days isnt enough to reach ketosis. but everyone is diff

Thanks MU, do you think using clen would be beneficial, while running a CKD?

im assuming your ditching this idea for the ECA/ECY stack. IMO clen is not neede while on CKD. esp if your not a hard core national bodybuilder competing for a card lol

Yea definitely did decide against the clen, thanx though so far, youve been a great help. I could never compete for a show, thats ridiculous dedication and discipline. Props to you and others that do though.

I reach ketosis in a few days so I carb up weekly, even when just starting.

To be honest, I really can't ever tell if I am in ketosis, I mean the weight is going down, but I'm assuming its water since Ive only been on it since Saturday. I mean my urine lately has been dark yellow and I've been drinking lots of water, and I hear one of the symptoms of bein in ketosis is the color or smell of urine, not to sure. I mean I definitely have the will power to hold out until day 14 to carb-up, but then again I'm assuming everyone knows how much they look forward to carb-ups when on a CKD. I'm not gettin ready for a show or anything, but I am going to Vegas July 4th weekend and want to be lookin good of course, aside from wantin to get back into shape. So the motivation is definitely there. I just dont want to carb up tomorrow if it means in any way of slowin down my progress. Appreciate all the feedback so far, it is helping tremendously.

When I'm in ketosis I can taste it in my mouth and my piss is dark. If your body fat isn't low there's really no need for CKD. You'd probably be happier doing a "normal" diet and you'd still get the same results.

good to see "normal" in the quotes, as I was gonna say, define normal....

I assumed most people on this site would consider normal a low fat med prot med carb diet. Context plays a big part, hence the quotes. I can't imagine what a "normal" diet would be on say a candy discussion forum :D

hahaha. it was hard for me to notice the signs...but if you want to do a keto diet stick with it. its great for maintaining muscle if done right. even better than a "normal" (lol) low carb diet. its just plain easy to follow at times too. hey you might even be able to cheat more often the last month if you reach your goals quickly :D
