Hey all,
Just woundering if adding some uncooked brown rice to my protein shake would be ok?
I mean its uncooked but its a grain so it will be fine right?
I was just thinking about giving it a try..Gonna put it in a blender with my protein and mix it all up....Beter yet i was just gonna crush it up into a real fine powder and put it in...
I am just trying to find some ways to cut down on time in the mornings when i wake up..i really dont wanna cook rice in the morning...
thanks

I'd imagine that the whole "conservation of matter" things would apply that if you left it whole or crushed it up, everything would remain the same(nutritionally). I do not know personally if i'd do that, it may give the shake a weird crunchy texture unless you where really dilligant about crushing it up. I just got done watching a Markus Rhul video and he said he adds uncooked oatmeal to his protein shakes so everything for your muscles is all in one shake.

The brown rice is fine, just dont put too much cause when its in your stomach and it expands... your definitely going to feel "full"
You should look into some steel cut oats. Small, lots of calories and good carbs, and CHEAP, 50lbs for 35 bucks

Actually, grinding/shredding brown rice or oat meal does increase surface area, thereby increasing the GI of the food.
