I'm currently benching 310 and I have bet a couple of my buddies that I can bench at least 400 by xmas. Now I'm going to dedicate half of my week to my bench strength when I write up my next workout. Would you guyz recommend a certain workout just for my goals? LeAvE FeEdBaCk PLEASE!!!

you are definitely a risky guy
90 lbs in 3 months is a lot of weight
all i can say is good luck

As I think it was max that rationalized it in another post - it is only 45 pounds to each side - perhaps that is less daunting than looking at the 90 in its entirety.
I think this is an accomplishable feat though and if you want to break it down even further - you are looking at 30 pounds a month or perhaps in max-speak - 15 pounds to each side each month.
I am assuming you already have a good program underway?
I have written what I obviously feel to be the superior article on this very topic - let me sieve through my stuff and see if I can't find it.

Good luck, let us now how you are doing, and if you need any help let us know.
And yes it is only on plate per side away from your goal

OK left the gym today with a max of 340. I left the gym doubting my goals until I went home and look at a calender and relized I have added 30lbs onto my bench in 6 weeks. I have 10 weeks to go. My goals aren't looking to doubtful now that I look at it!!! I'm going to start supplementing creatine and ae2 into the diet . I've pretty much have just been about to protein (around 300grams a day). I'll keep yall up to date on things as i progress.
Also quick question my friend told me that I am going to "top out". Meaning I'm going to reach a maximum weight that I will not be able to bypass. Could this happen?

congrats on the progress, keep up the hard work
the max weight could, and will eventually happen, where that is exactly is all dependant on your genetics

Drink Gatordade before during and after your workout and eat eat eat. Food is your number one supplement and if you want strength gains like that you cannot afford to miss any calories or meals. Try a 50/30/20 ratio and make sure you do not have any sticking points in your bench. Do not forget about your shoulders and triceps they both play an important role in benching. I'm sure you know that but just a friendly reminder

eat an assload. u get 300 grams protein now? bump it to 350. supplement w/ something a little stronger, at least some strong trib. (vitrix or alpha male), or even a PH. get lots of carbs, instant oatmeal, gatorade like a previous post. just keep lifting, do some power work for about 3-4 weeks, the go back to the powerlifting w/ heavy ass weight for 3-4 sets of 3-5 ish. always worked for me, im 15 w/ a 250 lbs bench, havent used any supps yet tho, looking into some shit.

Eat an "assload" but eat a "smart assload" of course!
Any update on your progress Captain Bench?

don't take the shoulder and tri thing lightly. In my powerlifting days, my bench was stuck hard at 295. I worked hard on strengthening my rear delts, and the next time I maxed, I got 330 like child play. If you get stuck, try doing a few negatives each time when you're done working out. This is an old trick, but it always worked for me.
Best of Luck

compound movements and negatives
you could also look into some static resistance training or work in some drop sets and pre-exausts those are always a good blast

Whats up man. Whatever happened with this bet? Did you get the $100? More importantly did you up your bench by 90 pounds?

Im 5'5" 170lbs and I bench 365lbs off cycle and 405lbs on cycle. I have been lifting since the 8th grade so I know what the F**k I'm talking about. If you want a strong bench you need to spend at least an hour alone on flat bench. I do 20 sets of bench. My workout is as follows
1. Bar 45lbs 25-30 times
2. 135lbs 10 times
3. 185lbs 8 times
4. 205lbs 6 times
5. 225lbs 5 times
6. 275lbs 5 times
7. 295lbs 4 times
8. 315lbs 3 times
9. 365lbs 1 to 2 times (MAX)
10. 315lbs 5 times (Feet on top of the bench and lay the bar on your chest for 2 seconds for each rep.) Same for the Rest of the sets 11-20.
11. 315lbs 5 times
12. 315lbs 5 times
13. 295lbs 5-6 times
14. 295lbs 5-6 times
15. 295lbs 5-6 times
16. 275lbs 5-6 times
17. 275lbs 5-6 times
18. 275lbs 5-6 times
19. 225lbs 10 times
20. 225lbs 10 times
Now you have an idea of what a real bench workout is. It's hard work but your bench WILL go up alot.

I am sure you do know what the F you are talking about, but for most of us on here, I think that is overkill X10. I really think alot of juice is needed to do that kind of workout. I will never attempt, but that's just imo.

Yeah what ever! I take my workout very serious. I have no reason to lie. I have proven myself to people like you over and over. With the proper diet and dedication anybody can do that workout with less or more weight. I was just trying to help the kid with his bench!

im not calling you a liar, but if this is true, you are the exception and you have to realize that. not everyone, no matter what they eat, would be able to recoup from something like that like the way you do and continually make optimal gains.

Jeebar-you calling someone unintelligent is about the funniest thing I have see in awhile. I assume you are just a troll from your rediculous responses.
Between the bench program and Jeebar speak, someone needs to delete this thread or put a lock on it. (lol)

SORRY GUYZ! ok well when new years came along I loaded the bar up with 400lb. I had never got it up before but I was hoping I could put it up right then and there with all of my boyz there. IT DIDNT HAPPEN! Well as soon as I was about to whip out the cash I talked them into extending the bet till the next semester of school. which was 3 weeks after new years. The bet was double or nothing! 3 Weeks later put up the 400lb! No debts, but a sh*t load of respect!
