Plasma protein is an interesting concept. I have not tried it, but I'm intrigued to see how you like it.
VPX was going to put out a product like this called RARE. Again, haven't seen this either.

so do you have any guess to which flavor would taste the best

Hard to tell. This is the first protein from ergopharm. If it were me, I'd try raspberry cream. Usually I just pick chocolate, but no go here.

im with you, i only ever get choc or vanilla, but i figure this stuff sounds interesting, and why not change from my usual flavor.

I have tried Cherry Blast so far and just ordered the Green Apple from Chris.
The Cherry Blast is good, but honestly --> after one container, I got tired of the taste....hence the switch. I am currently trying it PWO.
Minor clumping in shaker.

but you liked it enough to go for round two? how was it comparred to other proteins you have had, im guessing similar, but did you notice anything different

Ok, here's a better report on my thoughts.
1st - I dont look for a magestic difference ever through a protein powder.
Discussion: I think for the most part though, I compare it to something as basic as Syntrax's Nectar. I think it is a step up in the mixability scale via shaker and you get less clumping, but clumps are present nonetheless.
ErgoPharm has been a company that has earned a good reputation. 1-AD and 6-Oxo are things people swear by, however...its peptide claims seem like pseudoscience. I am unfortunately, not convinced. I am probably assured of quality and the product meeting label claims, which are respectable things.
To say I have noticed a difference would be a lie, but I think that giving it a fair shake certainly takes more than 1 tub. Like I said, I did get tired of the Cherry Blast flavor - hence my true decision to grab hold of a green apple to continue testing the product. Right now, I regret to inform you guys though that I am not sure what I should be noticing --> I haven't experienced "scientifically proven" increases in lean muscle tissue promised. By the way what kind of statement is that - PA knows better ... in science, the word "proven" should NEVER come up. I am not knocking him....I just think this is marketing at its best.
Overall: I use it at 2-3 servings per day (or I should say 2-3 doses) b/c I never use only 1 scoop. I find it the same as other WPI products and a great product for a PWO drink with some added carbs (now, whether PA is suggested the carbs are somehow impeding its actions, we then could be talking a different story as the directions and ads do not imply their use is warranted).
Rating: (all out of 5)
Results ---> * * * 1/2 (jury still out though, but I know a quality isolate is a safe bet anyway = primary ingredient)
Taste ---> * * * * (Cherry blast - due to getting tired of taste...initially great, though!)
Marketing ---> * * * * * (PA is like the Bill Philips of the 90's)
Mixibility ---> * * * (shaker: better than others, still not great)
Impression: If you can find an isolate at a cheaper price, that may be a better bet to save some dough right now, unless money isn't an option. I will keep you updated if there is any significant changes worth noting, but certainly on the green apple taste).
Hope this is of some benefit.

I was going to post more in depth but Dinoiii took good care of the primary issues there.
Flavor wise, I have only tried Raspberry and Orange. I liked Raspberry but did not like the Orange. One of my colleagues loved the Apple but I hate apple flavored anything.

thanks a lot, im gonna give it a shot. have you had nectar? is the fruit flavor similar to that, or is it creamier?

December 31st, 2004, 11:17 AM
Honestly I would have to say that I like the flavor of Nectar better, but it is really not fair of me to compare them because they are different types of protein.

i dont quite understany what you mean by they are different types of protein? i thought they were pretty similar, both wpi, gf pro just has a little sprayed animal protein or whatever that stuff is

What I meant was that each type of protein source generally has some of it's own unique taste characteristics. WPI vs. a WPI with the Spray Dried Plasma will have different taste features due to the Srpay Dried Plasma. Just like WPI vs. Whey concentrate have different tastes, or a WPI with Egg Protein in it would taste different than just a WPI. Didn't mean to confuse the issue.

ok gotcha, another question. when mixed is the gf pro more watery and liquity like nectar or is it thicker and creamier
dinoiii
December 31st, 2004, 01:31 PM
Hmmmm, this is interesting...I guess it depends on how much water we are talking. PWO I try and make them thin, whereas ALL OTHER TIMES, I attempt to make them "pudding-like."
vs. Nectar, I didn't feel there was a whole lot of difference. I am curious to see how the two apple varieties vary.

I personally thought the GF Pro was creamier than Nectar but it really probably depends on how you mix them. I try to make all my shakes as thick as possible.

same here, i love thick shakes, probably why i like myoplex deluxe so much.

i just got my raspberry lemonade from chris, along with my zero carb protein-vanilla, and shaker
e2 matrix had to be shipped separately, but should arrive soon

omigod!!!
what the hell.
now I liked the Cherry blast, however - the green apple variety is virtually non-palatable. Certainly vs. Nectar in taste, Nectar wins hands down in the flabor dept of green apple types.
Again, still watching for "results" I should notice. I seem to have seen very little though.
Also - do you plan on carrying I-Pro (their regular isolate, which really I have not seen many advertisements for) from Ergo Pharm Chris? I saw that while looking at that site you posted before.

Thats an intriguing find stallion. Thanks for pointing it out.

January 7th, 2005, 09:47 AM
no problem, but i really dont understand why its not offered in the u.s.
ingredients are typical of any wpi:
Micro Filtered Whey Protein Isolate, Malic Acid,
Natural and Artificial Flavors, Lecithin, Citric Acid, Acesulfame
Potassium, Sucralose, FD&C Red 40.

Ok guys:
Pure and simple:
The Green Apple tastes like "Dirty Ass"
Now, I know what you're thinking...it must be cause the ole doc has had experience with so much anatomy over the years as to how he could critique such a flavor. :?
Nahhh, its just that if I had to picture what dirty ass tasted like, I am certain that this green apple variety would be close. Jesus, I have tasted a lot of junk over the last 10 years of supplements - but wow!
Now Cherry Blast - good .... Green Apple - very bad! Next!!!

just had my new batch of protein
gf pro-similar to nectar, but better, the rasb lemonade is pretty tasty
cytopro chocolate-good, not amazing, but i like it
zero carb protein vanilla- the blandest tasting protein i have ever had. no one could think this tastes "bad" because it does not have a taste

Oh we do NOT throw protein away in my household. It is like abuse or something - cruel and unusual punishment, one might say. You shut up and choke the stuff down or risk being called a "girly man!" And there is still seemingly so much of it left.
