Guys, I would appreciate some opinions here from some of the experienced weight trainers... Knowledge equals power, and I want to make sure I am getting the best gains possible.

I like to incorporate drop sets with my training, almost each time I am working out a bodypart. For example, take lats... I like to warm up with a couple of sets, to get the muscle ready for work, and usually do two working sets to failure. The third set, I will go to failure, then drop the weight down about 30% or so, go to failure again, and drop down again about 30% or so and rep out till failure again. I will then follow a similar format with rows for example....

Would anyone recommend anything different for maximum effect? Or does this sound fairky much on the money... I realise that this may be a little hard to quantify, as individuals differ with fatigue, recovery etc. If there is a better, generally recognised way, then I am open to it....

I enjoy the drop sets, as it squeezes every last ounce of strength out of the bodypart I am working, and I get good results, and thats why I usually leave it for the last of each set, and only 1 or maybe 2 exercises per bodypart... anyway...let the posts begin!!

I think you may be using drop sets too frequently, but of course thats all in opinion.

I usually do 3 drop sets every 3 weeks for every muscle. While on cycle I'll do it every other week.

Another great option along the same lines is "super setting" a muscle. For Biceps, a great super set is seated incline curls for 6-8 reps (to failure), then to stand up immediately (grab lighter weight) and do 10-12 reps of hammer curls (to failure)

Hey Wedg-Decided to do drop sets every other week to see the difference, will let you know the difference it makes at the end of next week. I seem to be getting a decent pump from heavy working sets this week without the need of drop sets anyway, so perhaps this could be a good change.

Yeah drop sets are def a great builder but watch on doing too much u def could risk injury and youll hinder the effects that the drop set usually has on your muscles but all and all your def going to see results if u already havnt
