Go to the grocery store and look for this stuff called "Dales marinating sauce" I think its called.. makes steak taste great. In the morning fried steak with eggs is good, grilled steak, chop it up and make stir fry, chop it up and make fajitas, all good.

Ok guys, if you like steak, you need to know how to cook it.
First of all, you have how many different kinds, and cuts.
Take a skirt steak, pound it with a maul and fire it up on the
grill with some teriyaki and ginger. You can also do that with
any other cut. Take a shoulder cut... cut it into cubes and marinate
with soy sauce, kitchen bouquet, garlic powder and cooking oil. Anywhere from 2 hours to two days. (enjoy!)

That sounds pretty good, I think you need to make us all some good recipes for food here in the diet section... I dont know too many recipes and some foods I make are kind of bland... :D

Lol, I had to laugh at the post :) I too have a George F grill, and after a while everything started to taste like crap too.... I tend to BBQ my steak/chicken now, and although there is slightly more prep time, at least the food is edible.. :)

missmarymac, if you happen to be looking for a live in chef position..call me :)

I;ve actually been thinking about opening up a Hooters in Rocky Point, they don't have one out there and Burger King went out 2 years ago. Just remember, portion control. anything in excess results in excess on you!! :D :D

Teriaki steak is one of my favorites. If you're not really familiar with cooking/ time conscious, just buy it premade in the store and marinate the meat in a plastic ziplock bag in the fridge for 1/2 hour (more or less is fine no more than 2 days!! or it will be really salty).

Then pan sear it (flip after 5 min both sides for a med rare steak depending on thicknes, you can just cut to check how done it is).

IF YOU WANT TO make low cal teriaki from scratch:
(go to the nearest asian market to save big on asian foods)

mix
1/2 c. soy sauce
2 Tginger (either powdered or pickled sushi style minced)
1 T.artificial sweetner of choice (splenda)
3-4 T. rice vinegar, or sake or mirin (rice wine for cooking)

thats it!

Another good one is Beef Stew (you can buy the cheapest cut you can find because it will soften up with this cooking process)

you need a crock pot slow cooker (you can find plenty of them at goodwill)

Put the following in the crockpot:
beef cut into cubes
vegetables cut in large pieces (carrots, celery, maybe sweet potatoes if you're not trying to diet)
water
3 T minced garlic

then salt, pepper to taste

cook on low, the longer the better.
you can leave the crock pot on all day so I usually cut up the steak and veggies in the morning before work and its hot and ready to eat at dinner.

Good luck cooking!

Thanks Ibanez, it's one of my own.

It would be cool if there was a recipie section within the diet forum or a recipie forum on here.

By the way, I have an ibanez jazz bass and I love it.

Cheers!
