This goes out to Steve and Leonard

What are your expected shelf lives for each of your prohormone products. I think your exact estimates may aid people in potential purchases prior to the ban. It is just a suggestion.

The facility that we use to encapsulate the products does not allow for expiration dates on the bottles to exceed three years on ph items. It's a precautionary (I'm guessing insurance) thing. I know that on the MOHN raw materials, the expiration was 2009 on the raws themselves.

Legally I am supposed to reply with 2007 though.

Thanks

Good to hear!

Legal Gear claims to have the longest due to their gel caps. I guess this makes sense.

Steve,
I know that keeping the bottles in a cool dry place and not exposing it to sunlight will keep the bottles with the highest potency. But what else are some good tricks? Would shrink wrapping the bottles help? Refrigeration?

Keeping them in a cool dry place would help. There are also some people that say refrigeration would help. As for shrink wrapping, for products that come with an air tight seal, I can see no way that that would help them, but that's just personal opinion.

so we have 3 years then since they are produced...can we assume three years from like 12/04?

Italian,

It's hard to directly answer you on that one. Reread my post up higher in the thread to get a better idea of how long you can expect them to be good for.

Because I am not associated with SNS - I will say the following...I gather from Steve's post, you could ideally plan cycles until 2007, however - you MAY <<wink, wink>> see results with storage up til 2009.

There this is my post so no insurance issue....it is simply my translation of what I "think" may be a good estimation.

Like Steve said, most manufacturs will put an expiration of 3 years. Mine actually does one of 5 years. The thing with these materials is they can actually be good longer than 5 years, but as you get beyond that point, some of the material loses its strength. I would say that if it is a tab, it should last 3 to 5 years and a capsule should last 5-7 years. This is coming from my manufacturer that makes both tabs and caps. Also, my bio-chemist did say that freezing the products will make them last the longest. I think everyone has different ideas on this subject, but I personally would say you have 5 years if kept in the freezer. Hope this helps.

Thanks to Dinoii. Your estimation is on the money.

YOU SAID COOL DRY PLACE WOULD A FREEZER OR REFRIDGERATOR MAYBE INDUCE MOISTURE ?

It is very possible that a refidgerator or freezer would produce moisture.

I think that largely the hype about long shelf life was a marketing ploy by some companies. I mean, most of our products should be good until (see what Dinoii said), then realistically, that is so long that most people will long since used up their supply.

YOU SAID COOL DRY PLACE WOULD A FREEZER OR REFRIDGERATOR MAYBE INDUCE MOISTURE ?

I had a long discussion about this with an owner of another company. He said DEFINATELY do not put bottles of pills in a refridgerator or freezer. That would ruin the pills. He said if you Vacuum sealed the pills (you can pick up a vacuum sealer at walmart for like $20) then put them back in the pill bottle for identification purposes, you would prolong the shelf life. Thats going to be my plan of action as well.

If its already in a topical carrier, you shouldnt need to worry about freezing due to the fact its suspended in alcohol. Raw powders also can be vacuum sealed and frozen, but due to the fact they are powders and depending on the strength of the machine you're using I'm not sure how that would work.

I put all my supps in the freezer if I am not going to use them for an extended time.. I just put them in a freezer bag.. Never had one problem.

Well this is an interesting debate as of late MAXX. I think there is so much to consider. Read my post in the "side effects" thread to get part of your other question answered.

But as I have stated here in the past, it is said that if you freeze them, you will prolong their lives...if you open them up and shrink wrap them or something, you will prolong their lives even more...a year or two will go by and someone may "show" it is actually prolonging their life to hang them all from the ceiling or stand on your head while taking them...get where I am going with this?

While noone can know for sure, I will kind of aid your potential debate the best I can. If you plan on using them up until that time (2009 or 2011), I will assume you probably purchased a heck of a lot - huh? If not....maybe it won't be that challenging to find an answer to your question. Why not use them sooner - unless you are too young as of this point to be using PHs in the first place (as I am not sure your age) and just bought them to beat the ban and will save them a while. But oftentimes this doesn't affect many kids' opinions (I will refrain from roiderkid jokes at this time).

I assume if it is just an inner debate to use them, eventually you will succumb while they are in your possession, so again, I question if the years they will be "potent" until matters highly in that regard.

If you are having serious reservations though - don't use them...make sure you are ready and don't live with regret. That's all I am willing to bank on. I have a guilty feeling because I tried to get people's estimations out about how long they could use them and offer Steve, Leonard and company some good promo time. I thought that most of the kinks would be worked out prior regarding the decision to use.

I hope this is making sense. Agan above all else - it is your reservation that concerns me.
