Hello,

This is weird. I can run for a long time without my heart-rate skyrocketing, but 20 minutes in the gym and I feel dead. What's up with this?

I've been doing full-body workouts, with somewhere between 8-13 reps per set. Virtually no rest between reps or sets (just enough time to quickly move from one machine to another). My legs are in decent shape (I still work legs), but I've been concentrating on the upper body.

After twenty minutes, I'm 'panting' like a dog, but I can 'run' (fast) for about 3-4 miles before my heart-rate gets like this.

Anyone else like this? I would think the same 'endurance' I have for running would be the same 'endurance' I have in the gym. :P

That's because you're not doing it properly. You must take a rest in between sets. Don't rest for more than one minute in between sets...but don't go from machine to machine...that's no good. Slow it down...going like a madman isn't going to help you in any way. And endurance for running and weight training is completely different. I could run 3 miles without stopping or being that tired...but when I workout for 40 min I do get a little tired. Your using up so much more energy to lift weights than you are running. It requires more energy to lift 100lbs than it does to run half a lap you get what I am saying?

If you need a little help...try some No2...that will give you all of the energy you need.
