Hello,

I'm thinking of visiting my family doctor in a few weeks just to get general blood work completed. What would be good questions to ask?

Initially, I'm thinking it would be good know the following:

Body Fat Percentage
Insulin Levels
Cholesterol Level
Blood Pressure / Heart Rate

What else? I think I'm in decent health shape, but I've never had anything more than a basic physical completed before. Just making sure I don't have sky-high cholesterol or something major in blood that I should know.

Thanks!

he probably wont check for bf%. I'd just check blood pressure, and I have my Dr. check test levels every so often - especially post cycle

Hmmm. I know him fairly well, so I'm hoping I can talk him into it. I know insulin sensitivity is fairly important when determining diets. (right?). Especially with my incredibly high cal intake, I was hoping he'd find something that would give me a clue as to what I should change (besides less cardio).

Who should I go to for BF% checks? I could do it myself, but I want to get an accurate "base" to start from. I'll will be motiviation for me if I know I've decreased BF% from a known accurate level.

I have incredibly good insurance, so cost isn't too much of a problem. I'm thinking pretty much everything except EKGs. :P

The gym that i go to have the calipers hooked up to a computer program and the trainer check it for you.

It is pretty cool cause it tells you how much of your weight if fat water and muscle.

I always have my doctor also check my liver and kidney function

Its not whether he wants to do it or not, i just dont think most Dr's have the tools (calipers) or the training to do it. See a personal trainer at a gym

Ah, I gotcha. Thanks!

Seems like there would be a way to determine BF % precisely by measuring certain contents of blood. Just thinking out loud.
